NHL Sunday betting picks and top parlays for 4/10/2022

There are seven National Hockey League (NHL) games scheduled for Sunday in the Americas, starting at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (US).

Here’s where you should place your bets on the Sunday games. All lines provided by the best US online betting sites.

Anaheim Ducks +300 @ Carolina Hurricanes -400

The Hurricanes have lost three of five games and are just two points up on the Rangers for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division. Carolina has been performing under its 3.29 goals per game scoring average lately, and the Hurricanes’ two wins came in home games against Buffalo and Montreal.

Carolina is comfortable on home ice, with a 26-7-4 record when hosting games this year.

The Ducks have been worse than the Hurricanes over their last five, winning just once, and they’re 12-15-7 on the road this season. Anaheim isn’t bad defensively, allowing 3.18 goals per game. Offense is an issue (2.74 goals scored per game), and Carolina’s defense is outstanding.

The Hurricanes only average 2.38 goals allowed per game, so expect Carolina to be buoyed by its defense and netminder Frederik Andersen. He stopped 31 of 32 shots on goal against Anaheim earlier this season, and has allowed just 2.07 goals per game on average.

Take Carolina on the moneyline and to win by two or more at -130.

Buffalo Sabres +290 @ Tampa Bay Lightning -380

The Lightning have lost four straight games, so a game against Buffalo could spark Tampa Bay back to life. One of those four losses did come at home against Montreal, however, and the Lightning have lost three straight at home.

Ryan McDonagh is out for Tampa, but an offense that has averaged just 2.9 goals per game over the last 10 games should enjoy seeing the Sabres’ defense. Buffalo has allowed 3.6 goals per game over its last 10 games, scoring 3.5 times per game.

Expect Tampa to play above its 3.27 goal-scoring average given Buffalo’s season-long woes defensively (3.51 goals allowed per game).

Take Tampa on the moneyline and to win by two or more.

Parlaying Tampa with Carolina on the moneyline pays -175. Taking them both to win by at least two pays +198.

Los Angeles Kings +145 @ Minnesota Wild -170

Minnesota cooled off a bit thanks to injuries, penalties, and a four-game road trip. The Wild are still 7-1-2 over the past 10 games despite losing two straight. Being back at home, where the Wild are 24-7-2, should lift the Wild’s spirit.

Los Angeles is a really good road team, however. The Kings are inexplicably 20-9-6 on the road this season. They score about as many goals as they allow, their power play is putrid (16.6 scoring percentage), and their penalty kill is slightly better than average. They do get a lot of easy road trips to Anaheim and San Jose, and Las Vegas and Seattle are both quick trips.

There’s nothing easy about winning in Minnesota, and the Wild’s penalty tendencies (738 penalty minutes this season) shouldn’t cost them the game like it did in Nashville on Tuesday. Take Minnesota on the moneyline. A moneyline trifecta including Minnesota, Carolina, and Tampa Bay pays +150.

You might also consider betting on Kirill ‘The Thrill’ Kaprizov to score a goal in the game. He’s scored in four of his last five games and is tied four sixth with 41 goals on the season.
