There are six National Hockey League (NHL) games scheduled for Wednesday in the Americas, starting at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (U.S.). Here’s where you should place your bets on the Wednesday games. All lines provided by Nags.bet.
Los Angeles Kings @ Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers are the biggest favorite of the day, playing at home against Los Angeles where they’re 21-12-0 this season. The Kings, however, have been an excellent road team, going 18-9-5 this season.
The tale of how these two teams have played lately is much more informative. Edmonton is 7-2-1 over its last 10 games, averaging close to five goals scored per game. The Kings have struggled to a 4-4-2 mark over their last 10 games, scoring just 2.5 goals per game over that stretch.
The Kings have been excellent defensively all season and even better over their last 10 games, but whatever advantage they have defensively is considerably smaller than the advantage the Oilers have offensively. The Kings are also coming off a home loss to Seattle in which they allowed six goals. The Oilers scored six on Arizona in their last game.
Take the Oilers on the moneyline and consider taking them to win by at least two at +135. You can parlay Edmonton with…
New York Rangers @ Detroit Red Wings
New York will be playing its second game in as many days, but even with Alexandar Georgiev in net, the Rangers will have the goaltending advantage over Detroit (3.80 goals allowed per game this season). The Rangers have also been comfortable on the road this season (20-13-2). The Rangers have also won four of five games, while Detroit has lost four of five.
The Rangers also have a considerable special teams advantage, scoring on 26.4 percent of power plays to Detroit’s 17.4 percent scoring average. New York’s penalty kill rate (81.4 percent) is also much better than the Red Wings’ kill rate (72.4).
Bet on the Rangers to continue climbing the Metropolitan Division standings with their 21st win on the road. Enjoy parlay of odds of +117 when pairing New York with Edmonton on the moneyline, and consider betting that more than six goals will be scored given New York’s recent hot streak offensively. The Rangers have scored four or more times in their last three games, and Detroit allowed 11 goals against Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Vegas Golden Knights @ Seattle Kraken
Seattle is coming off an impressive 6-1 win over the Kings in Los Angeles, but the Golden Knights have scored 11 times in their last two games after being shutout in their previous two games.
Seattle has allowed 3.52 goals per game this season, and Vegas has scored four times in each of the two games these teams have played this season. That was enough for the Knights to win both and should be enough for them to win this one. While Seattle has been better offensively over its last 10 games (2.9 goals scored per game), the Kraken still allowed 3.4 goals per game over that span.
Vegas needs to put an end to its seven-game losing streak in road games to fend off the Dallas Stars and maintain its playoff position for the final Western Conference Wild Card spot. Expect the Knights to do just that, and consider betting on Vegas to win by two or more at +140 odds. A moneyline trifecta featuring Vegas, Edmonton, and New York pays +239
