A caustic and entertaining round of matches in the English Premier League is lined up this weekend, as the 2018/19 campaign approaches its home stretch.
Our first feature match of the weekend will see Tottenham Hotspur, fresh off of triumphantly progressing into the last eight of the UEFA Champions League, play away to Southampton in Saturday’s 3pm kickoff.
Champions Manchester City will be hoping to solidify their place on top of the table when they welcome Watford to the Etihad later in the day.
The first piece of action on Sunday will be a noontime kickoff pitting Liverpool against Burnley at Anfield, whereas Chelsea will play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers two hours later.
The best is quite arguably reserved for last, as Manchester United will travel to the Emirates on Sunday evening for a swashbuckling encounter to close off Match Week 30 of the EPL.
Premier League multi-bet for Match Week 30:
Southampton and Tottenham to both score – -149.25
Man City to win – -714.29
Liverpool to win – -833.33
Chelsea to win – -200
Man United to win – +200
EPL Accumulator Odds – +859 at Bovada
Parlay leg 1 – Southampton vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Saturday, March 9 – 3:00p.m Local time – St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton, United Kingdom
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will head to St. Mary’s Stadium with an extra spring in their step having qualified for the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Spurs were boosted by the return of Harry Kane whose second half strike at the Westfalenstadion enabled the visitors to make it to the last eight of the top tier European competition with a 4-0 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund.
The victory was as timely as it was reassuring, given how the North Londoners had lost two and drawn one of their last three Premier League games.
Although they reaped the fruits of their labor during their midweek trip to Germany, Spurs will have to do much better in order to secure maximum points against a Southampton side that troubled Manchester United on their own perch last weekend.
Prediction: Both teams to score – -142.86 at Bovada
Parlay leg 2 – Manchester City vs. Watford
Saturday, March 9 – 5:30p.m Local time – Etihad Stadium, Manchester, United Kingdom
Manchester City moved back on top of the Premier League table for the first time since December after a hard fought, thoroughly deserved 1-0 win away to Bournemouth last Saturday. Elevation back to the top was by and large aided by Liverpool’s barren draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby that same weekend.
Seeing that City have reclaimed their place on top of the log by just a paltry point, Pep Guardiola will want to make light work of The Hornets ahead of Tuesday’s decisive Champions League last 16, second leg match with Schalke in Manchester.
Prediction: Man City to win – -666.67 at Bovada
Parlay leg 3 – Liverpool vs. Burnley
Sunday, March 10 – 12:00p.m Local time – Anfield, Liverpool, United Kingdom
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for some touch of good fortune this time round when his side plays host to Burnley on Sunday. The Reds seems to be struggling to find the goals at a pivotal point of their title challenging season, as their 0-0 draw at Goodison Park last weekend became third goalless draw in four games, and fourth draw in their last six games in all competitions.
Bayern Munich lies in wait in the Champions League, which means the Reds simply can’t afford another slump in the run up to that all-important contest.
Despite their prevailing circumstances, Liverpool should be able to squeeze out a win against Burnley, as they warm up for a crucial trip to Munich.
Prediction: Liverpool to win – -526.32 at Bovada
Parlay leg 4 – Chelsea vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sunday, March 10 – 2:05p.m Local time – Stamford Bridge, London, United Kingdom
Maurizio Sarri’s push for a place in the top four will continue this weekend when the Blues welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Bridge this Sunday.
Although Chelsea are only two points shy of fourth, leapfrogging both Arsenal and Manchester United is easier said than done, given how both teams look poised to take fight for top four down to the very last day of the season.
Seventh placed Wolves are no pushovers, and they have every capacity to trouble Chelsea. You would however fancy Maurizio Sarri’s side to marginally carry the day on home turf.
Prediction: Chelsea to win – -172.41 at Bovada
Parlay leg 5 – Arsenal vs. Manchester United
Sunday, March 10 – 4:30p.m Local time – Emirates Stadium, London, United Kingdom
One of the most decisive games in the top four dynamics will take place over the weekend when Manchester United visit the Emirates to take on Arsenal. The Red devils are currently as good as can be, having against all odds eliminated Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League thanks to an emphatic 3-1 win at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night; one that helped overturn an initial 2-0 Old Trafford defeat in the first leg.
This is in stark contrast to the Gunners who find themselves in a precarious position after Thursday night’s 3-1 defeat to Rennes in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16.
United have won their last nine away games in all competitions, and a victory over Arsenal at the
Emirates in January can only add to their already sky high confidence.
Prediction: Man United to win – +200 at Bovada
