SOCCER betting fans are in for a treat this weekend.

Chelsea and Manchester United will duke it out on Sunday afternoon as they strive to stay in touch with Premier League leaders Manchester City, who will tackle Arsenal in the 2:15pm kick-off.

There is also a tricky derby date for Tottenham Hotspur and an interesting trip to London for inconsistent Liverpool.

West Ham United vs. Liverpool

Saturday, November 4 – 5:30pm GMT – London Stadium

West Ham – +350
Draw – +300
Liverpool – -142.86

A tally of two wins in 10 games sees the Hammers on struggle street. They should have won last week, but were forced to share the points with Crystal Palace after Wilfried Zaha struck a late, late equaliser.

Liverpool responded to mounting pressure with three goals and a long-overdue clean sheet against Huddersfield Town. Dejan Lovren was a late withdrawal from that game, and it remains to be seen whether the much-maligned defender reclaims his spot for the trip to the capital.

The Reds need to start winning these so-called ‘danger games’. A bit of poise in the final third should get them home against an Irons outfit that may well be sitting in the relegation zone at round’s end.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Crystal Palace

Sunday, November 5 – 12pm GMT – Wembley Stadium, London

Spurs – -400
Draw – +500
Palace – +1000

Does it get any better than smashing the European champions in front of a packed house at Wembley? A Dele Alli double sank Real Madrid on Wednesday as Spurs made sure of a spot in the Champions League knockout rounds. In even better news, Harry Kane was back in action after missing the 1-0 loss to Man United last weekend.

Crystal Palace’s fortunes have turned for the better since the dismissal of Frank de Boer. Key to that revival has been the form of the aforementioned Zaha, who has scored two crucial goals in three games since returning from a two-month injury layoff.

The Eagles beat Chelsea last month to end their seven-game losing streak, so they cannot be written off entirely. However, it is hard to see Spurs losing with Kane back on the park and the overwhelming confidence that comes with beating Europe’s very best.

Manchester City vs. Arsenal

Sunday, November 5 – 2:15pm GMT – Etihad Stadium, Manchester

Man City – -227.27
Draw – +380
Arsenal – +550

If there was any doubt about Man City’s credentials before now, they earned them fair and square on Wednesday with a 4-2 away win over a very, very good Napoli side. It remains to be seen whether any team in Europe can match the firepower of Sergio Aguero, Kevin de Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling.

For all their critics, Arsenal are not that far off the pace. A gritty comeback victory against Swansea City last week means they have now won five of seven Premier League games since that infamous 4-0 drubbing at Liverpool in August. The Gunners are sweating on the fitness of star left-back Sead Kolasinac, who leads the club with three assists this season.

Do Arsenal’s midfield players possess the defensive instincts to stop a multi-faceted Man City attack? It would require big, unselfish performances from the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka, all of whom have come under fire in recent times for a perceived lack of discipline. City will win this, and a big margin is not out of the question.

Chelsea vs. Manchester United

Sunday, November 5 – 4:30pm GMT – Stamford Bridge, London

Chelsea – +140
Draw – +220
Man United – +200

While the rest of England’s Champions League hopefuls were buoyed by midweek wins, Chelsea stumble into week 11 with more questions than answers after a 3-0 defeat to Roma. Defensive decision-making has become a serious concern for the Blues, with the likes of David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger making some absolute howlers in the Italian capital.

United fans may not like Jose Mourinho’s tactical approach (or his manners in the media), but the Portuguese gaffer has guided his side to important wins over Spurs and Benfica since that slip-up against Huddersfield a couple of weeks ago. The switch to a defensive setup has starved Romelu Lukaku, who is now six games without a goal in any competition.

The way these two are playing at the minute, this matchup is not geared towards a decisive outcome. Chelsea should start improving now that Alvaro Morata has a few games under his belt, but United seem intent on killing the game whenever they face half-decent opposition. A stalemate looks the way to go.
