The San Francisco 49ers will look to extend their winning streak to five games when they head down Route 101 to take on the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday.
While the 49ers are along with the Patriots as the last unbeaten teams in the league, are they for real? Sure, they crushed the Cleveland Browns 31-3 in their last game, but they have not faced a team with a winning record. That changes this Sunday in La La Land where San Francisco are the underdogs against the 3-2 Rams.

The Rams have lost two in a row after a 3-0 start and in their last game lost to the Seattle Seahawks 30-29, missing a 44-yard field goal that would have won the game. While they have scored 69 points in their last two games, they have given up 85 points.
In their more than convincing win over the Browns the 49ers dominated the game, outgaining Cleveland 446 yards to 180 yards. Jimmy Garoppolo passed for 181 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and Matt Breida, who had an 83-yard touchdown run, and Tevin Coleman combined to rush for 211 yards.

While the 49ers only rank 22nd in passing yards per game they rank first in rushing yards per game and second in points per game.
The big matchup in this game may be the 49ers and their top-ranked rushing attack facing a Rams run defense that ranks a pedestrian 15th in the league.
The Rams are coming off a tough one-point loss to the Seahawks where they had a chance to win at the end. They had more yards in the game (477 to 429) but had two turnovers and forced only one and the run game struggled again. Todd Gurley had 15 carries for only 51 yards, and it was the third straight game he did not average over 3.4 yards per carry.
Jared Goff did his part in the loss, going 29 for 49 for 395 yards with a touchdown and an interception, and Gerald Everett and Cooper Kupp each had at least 117 receiving yards. Goff was not sacked once and will face Nick Bosa and a solid 49ers pass rush that had four sacks in the win over the Browns.
The 49ers have a monster front-line defense and an athletic secondary and they rank second in the league against the pass and fifth against the run.

The 49ers are a good team, but are they genuine Super Bowl contenders? This game will be a big test and their first facing a team with a winning record. The 49ers will put up some points on a struggling defense, but Goff and company will do the same and should win and cover in their own house, handing San Fran their first loss of the season.
