Saturday’s EPL betting picks & best odds – Matchweek 10

The English Premier League is back in the swing of things and we will have a full slate this weekend for Matchweek 10. There are five games scheduled this Saturday, with the likes Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham in action, and we have betting picks for four of them.

Newcastle United vs Brentford

This is a fascinating game between two solid teams. Newcastle are in seventh place with 11 points through eight games, while Brentford are in 10th place with 10 points through eight games. Both teams have to be happy with their performances thus far and they are both improved on last season. That being said, we like Newcastle to win this game and continue on their strong season. The Toon have more physicality in the midfield and they are adept at winning the ball back. With the pace they have in their attack through guys like Bruno Guimares and Allan Saint-Maximin, they have the ability to counter very quickly and Brentford may struggle to keep up with them.

Brentford are no slouches, however. They have shocked Premier League fans everywhere with big wins against Manchester United and Leeds United. That being said, they have been very inconsistent and part of that is they cannot win away games. This season, Brentford have yet to win away and Newcastle have yet to lose at home. Home field advantage is a real thing in the Premier League and it will help Newcastle in this fixture. On a neutral site, this game could go either way, but given what we have seen from both teams, Newcastle at home is the pick in this intriguing contest.

Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Chelsea have been solid defensively and Wolves are awful offensively. For those reasons, we like the under in this game. At home, Chelsea have not conceded more than a goal in a game, and although they have struggled in attack at times, that only helps the under. Guys like Reece James and Thiago Silva have been amongst Chelsea’s most effective players and are carrying their defense. Fortunately for them, it should be easier to defend this week than usual.

Wolves have only scored three Premier League goals in eight games and they have no ability offensively. They have been strong defensively, and while they may not keep a clean sheet here, we still like the under in this game. This is going to be a testy battle between two defensively focused teams and it may be quite a bore to watch. However, if you have the under, it won’t be the worst game of the weekend.

Bournemouth vs Leicester City

This game could actually be pretty fun. While both these teams are relegation candidates, neither of them are stable defensively and that could lead to a lot of goals. Leicester have conceded a whopping 22 times through eight games and Bournemouth haven’t been much better, conceding 19 times in the same amount of games. Leicester have a strong offense and should be able to create chances on a bad Bournemouth defense.

The question will be if Bournemouth’s struggling attack can break down a porous Leicester defense. Bournemouth only have six goals for this season, but considering Leicester’s inability to defend, they should be able to bag one or two goals this game. The over here is our favorite bet on the board for this Saturday slate.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur

Brighton have been the shock of this Premier League season, jumping into fourth place with 14 points through seven games. That has mostly been on the back of their defensive prowess as they have only given up eight goals through those games. However, coach Graham Potter recently left for Chelsea, and in Brighton’s first game without him they conceded three times. Sure, that was against a potent Liverpool attack, but we expect Tottenham to do the same.

Spurs will be motivated to avenge their North London Derby loss to Arsenal last weekend. That result was a brutal hit to their record, but this Tottenham team has too much talent to stay down for long. The Spurs attack is borderline unstoppable on their best day and we expect that to be the difference in this contest. While Tottenham have been inconsistent in away games this season, they should do enough to get the points against this dangerous yet beatable Brighton side.
