The race for the Serie A title is coming right down to the wire as AC Milan hosts Fiorentina and Inter Milan visits Udinese this Sunday. Here’s a betting breakdown of those two matches as well as our play in the Empoli vs Torino FC match in Matchweek 35 of the 2021/22 Serie A season.

Empoli vs Torino

Torino (11-11-12) and Atalanta played to a wild 4-4 draw on Wednesday. This was Torino’s third draw in its last four matches and its fifth since the beginning of March. Torino is undefeated over its last five games with a 2-3-0 record, most notably earning a point at home in a 0-0 draw against first-placed AC Milan.

Empoli (9-10-15) snapped a 16-match winless streak with a stunning 3-2 upset at home over Napoli last Sunday. Empoli had gone 0-8-8 in its previous 16 games prior to that win. The club was playing well with a 4-2-0 run that included a road draw against Inter and a road win upset over Napoli, but the team’s form has cooled off since then with back-to-back losses of 2-1 to last-placed Salernitana and 4-0 at home to Udinese. Given the current form Fiorentina has coming into this match, Milan looks like a solid play at home.

Udinese vs Inter Milan

Inter Milan (21-9-4) no longer controls its own destiny in the race for the Serie A title after its stunning 2-1 loss on the road to Bologna. That loss snapped an eight-game unbeaten streak of 5-3-0 and a four-game winning streak that included quality wins on the road at Juventus and at home against AS Roma. Inter enters Sunday’s matchup with a 6-2-0 record in its last eight matches against Udinese.

Udinese has been playing well of late with a 4-1-1 record over its last six matches, most recently defeating Fiorentina 4-0 on the road. The club is also 4-2-1 in its last seven home games. It obviously wouldn’t be too surprising to see Inter Milan roll to a multi-goal win, but the Nerazzurri have won by two goals or more only once in their last six road matches. With Udinese playing well and all of the pressure on Inter, we’ll take the home team against the spread as a draw (win ATS) or one-goal loss (push ATS) seem quite likely.
