Serie A 2021/22 Matchweek 36 betting picks & top odds

Serie A MW36 betting picks

Three of the games on the Serie A Matchweek 36 betting card feature two top-10 teams in Torino vs Napoli, Hellas Verona vs AC Milan, and Fiorentina vs AS Roma. These are our best bets for that trio of matchups, with odds courtesy of Bovada.

Torino vs Napoli

Napoli (21-7-7) snapped a three-game winless streak with an impressive 6-1 win at home over Sassuolo last Saturday. The club was in the running for first place in Serie A and was on an 8-2-1 run before a 0-1-2 slump dropped Napoli out of realistic contention for first place. Torino (12-11-12) hasn’t lost since March 18 with a 3-3-0 record over its last six matches after beating Empoli 3-1 on the road on Sunday.

We’re leaning towards the OVER in this one. There have been an average of 4.1 total goals scored per game in Napoli’s last seven games and an average of five per game across Torino’s last three matches. A low-scoring game isn’t out of the question between these two clubs with solid defenses, but their recent trends towards high-scoring games makes the OVER 2.75 look like a pretty good value at -105 in a game that could easily finish 2-1 either way.

Hellas Verona vs AC Milan

AC Milan (23-8-4) is three wins away from locking up its first Serie A championship since the 2010-11 season. Milan extended its current unbeaten streak to 13 games with a 8-5-0 record and its current winning streak to three games on Sunday, defeating Fiorentina 1-0 at home. Hellas Verona (14-10-11) moved to 2-1-0 over its last three matches with a 2-1 road win over Cagliari last Saturday. Verona is 4-1-1 in its last six matches at home.

The draw odds in this matchup going off at +300 are tempting. But our best bet in this match is the UNDER 2.75 goals. Hellas Verona has given up one goal or less in seven of its last nine matches and Milan has allowed zero goals in seven of its last eight matches. Milan wins of 1-0 and 2-0 and draws of 0-0 and 1-1 all feel like very realistic scores for this game, and they’d all land under the posted total.

Fiorentina vs AS Roma

AS Roma (17-8-10) played to a disappointing 0-0 draw at home against Bologna on Sunday, falling to 0-2-1 over its last three matches in the process. Roma’s loss to Inter Milan on April 23 is still the club’s only loss since January 9, however, as the Roma is 8-6-1 over its last 15 matches. Fiorentina (17-5-13) meanwhile has lost three straight games after dropping last Sunday’s match against AC Milan 1-0 on the road. Prior to this three-match losing streak, Fiorentina was 4-2-0 over its previous six games.

Taking the current form of these two clubs into consideration, there should be a lot of value on Roma at +113 going off as a pick’em on the two-way line. A draw (which would be graded as a push on this bet) feels like a very likely result in this match, though Fiorentina has only recorded five draws this season. So if indeed there is a winner, it seems more likely that it would be Roma. The Giallorossi are playing better of late and beat Fiorentina 3-1 at home back in August; we like their chances of winning another close game in this spot, especially getting better than even-money odds on the proposition.
