The New England Patriots carry a five-game winning streak into this Sunday’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 12 of the 2021 NFL season. These two division leaders will battle for positioning atop the AFC standings when they meet at Gillette Stadium.

Tennessee Titans @ New England Patriots game analysis

The New England Patriots (7-4-0) opened their campaign with a 2-4 run and appeared to be on their way to another down year after having missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008 last season. But since then, rookie quarterback Mac Jones has settled into the starting role, completing 68.8% of his passes and throwing seven touchdowns with only two interceptions over the team’s current 5-0 run. The defense has also been one of the NFL’s best during that stretch, allowing only 10 points per game.

The Tennessee Titans (8-3-0) had a six-game winning streak snapped in shocking fashion last Sunday when they lost 22-13 as 10-point favorites to the horrible Houston Texans. Prior to that game, Tennessee was 6-0 (5-1 ATS) over its previous six games and Houston was 0-8 (3-5 ATS) over its previous eight. The Titans haven’t been quite the same on offense since they lost Derrick Henry for the season with a broken foot. Henry was on his way to a potential NFL MVP season with 937 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns through his first eight games of the 2021 season.

Titans @ Patriots NFL betting predictions

With Henry in the lineup, this would have been a fascinating matchup between the league’s best running back and the league’s tightest defense (New England ranks no.1 in the NFL with 16.1 points per game against). Tennessee’s offense has gotten worse in each game since Henry’s injury, scoring 28 points against the Los Angeles Rams, 23 against the New Orleans Saints and 13 against the Texans.

New England, meanwhile, has won its last three games by a combined score of 94 to 13. The Patriots are clicking on both sides of the ball and have had a few extra days for rest and preparation for this matchup, having last played on Thursday instead of Sunday. Add in that the Patriots are 15-1 (12-3-1 ATS) in their last 16 home games played in November, and all signs point to the Patriots picking up a fairly convincing win over the Titans this Sunday.

New England Patriots -7
