The Champions League Final kicks off this Saturday and the excitement can hardly be contained. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic fixture between two of the preeminent clubs in world soccer. It will be Liverpool against Real Madrid and both of these teams have had fantastic seasons. Liverpool have a chance to win their third major competition this season and when you combine that with their second place finish in the Premier League, they have a chance to be one of the best teams in recent memory. Real Madrid won La Liga, the best league in Spain, and will go for their record extending 14th Champions League tournament victory this Saturday. It’s going to be a crazy game and here are some prop picks to make the viewing experience that much better. All odds courtesy of Bovada.
Both Teams to Score: Yes
This is a fantastic matchup between some of the best attackers in the world. Liverpool will start Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who are both prolific goal scorers and seem to be on another wavelength when they are in form. Real Madrid have the best striker in the world this season in Karim Benzema. He has scored 10 goals in his last five Champions League games and is in the best scoring form of his lucrative career. Real also have some pacy wingers in Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo who have really found their footing throughout this Champions League run. Of course, to get to this point you need a good defense but both of these teams are offensively dominant and are better on that side of the ball. This may seem like a heavy line, but with the attacking talent these team’s possess, it should be a winner.
Both Teams To Score
Total Corner Kicks: Over 9.5
This bet is building off of all the attacking talent in this game. These players will not be scared to take a crack at goal and force a save from the opposition’s keeper. When that happens, corner kicks will be more prevalent. Also, both teams have quick, agile wingers who will be able to get down the line and force defenders to kick the ball over the goal line. This is a weird bet, but the matchups should play out in a way that is conducive to a lot of corner kicks.
Over 9.5 Corner Kicks
To Be Shown a Card: Casemiro
Casemiro, of Real Madrid, is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. He is a very physical player and has a reputation of being a little dirty. In short, referees will not hesitate to give him a yellow card and cash this bet. Due to the attacking prowess of Liverpool, Casemiro will have to be defending constantly and when that happens, he is a shoe in to get a card. Even if it’s not a nasty tackle, Casemiro could do a tactical foul at the end of the game and get a yellow for that. There are many ways for this bet to hit, and Casemiro’s physicality mixed with the Liverpool attack, will give the ref ample opportunities to book Casemiro.
Caemiro To Be Shown A Card
Anytime Goal Scorer: Luka Modric
This is a bit of a longshot but Modric is a big game player. He has been in the mix in a lot of Real’s Champions League wins and also, led Croatia to a World Cup Final. Modric lives for these moments and will be itching to make a big impact. Also, Real should be able to play a lot of balls into the box and when that happens, Modric will be sitting on the edge of the 18’ and wait for a ball to roll out to him. Madrid should be able to attack down the wing in this game and that will naturally open up space for a maestro like Modric to take advantage of. It’s a longshot bet, but definitely worth wagering at this number.
Luka Modric To Score A Goal
Anytime Goal Scorer: Sadio Mane
Sadio Mane is one of the best attackers in the world as his mix of pace and strength make him unstoppable at times. He has recently found his finishing boots and when that happens, watch out. Mane, in all competitions, has 23 goals in 50 games and is just as prolific as his running mate, Mohamed Salah. Salah’s odds to score are +130 and while he has more goals this season, these guys can both bang in goals for fun. Mane has some higher odds and should be ready for this fixture. At +200, this bet is a steal for something that could be considered likely given Mane’s recent form.
Sadio Mane To Score A Goal
Vinicius Jr. To Have 1 or More Shot in Each Half: Yes
This bet is under the specials tab on Bovada and it appears to flying under the radar. Vini will be playing left wing for Real and will be matched up with Liverpool’s right back Trent Alexander Arnold for most of the game. Trent is a great offensive right back but can be exposed defensively. Of course, Liverpool is ok with that tradeoff due to the importance of his ability to go forward but this will open up shooting opportunities for the pacy Vini. Vini should have a ton of chances to shoot during this game and as long as he is a little selfish, this bet should hit easily.
Vinicius Jr. To Have 1 Or More Shot In Each Half
Will the Match Go to Penalties: Yes
Look, penalties are a very flawed way to end these sort of competitions but the possibility exists. In fact, in these massive games, it feels like penalties happen a lot. When teams are so evenly matched, they tend to err on the side of caution and while these team’s will both go for it, the possibility of penalties is pretty high. 6 of the last 21 Champions League finals have ended in penalties so just going off that, this bet is good value. Also, the Europa League Final, the FA Cup Final and the Euro 2020 Final all ended in penalties. It sucks when a big game ends in a shootout but it’s been happening a lot recently. In this game, we are not rooting for it but at this number, we are betting on it.
Match Goes To Penalties
