Undefeated heavyweight Alexander Romanov will be featured in the co-main event of this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night in a bout against Chase Sherman. Sherman is a last minute call up after Romanov’s original opponent Tanner Boser had to withdraw due to injury.
Here’s a look at that fight and the other four fights on the UFC Fight night main card leading up to the main event of Amanda Lemos vs Jessica Andrade.

Heavyweight: Chase Sherman +1200 vs Alexander Romanov -2500
Alexander Romanov (15-0-0) extended his perfect record to 15 matches and improved to 4-0 in the UFC with his knockout win over Jared Vanderaa in October.
Romanov is a versatile fighter that can beat opponents in a number of different ways, as evidenced by his six knockout wins and eight submission wins to date.
Chase Sherman (15-9-0) is coming off three straight UFC losses, the last by rear naked choke to Jake Collier. Sherman has only won two of his past eight fights, and both are those were by KO/TKO. The last minute call up to fight after Tanner Boser withdrew will not be a positive for Sherman who will simply be outclassed either standing or on the mat.
With all due respect to Sherman, this should be a pretty easy win for Romanov. and will be over quickly.
Fight To End Under 1.5 Rounds
Lightweight: Clay Guida (-130) vs Claudio Puelles (+110)
Clay Guida (37-21-0) earned a Performance of the Night bonus four days before his 40th birthday when he defeated Leonardo Santos by submission with a rear-naked choke on December 4.
Guida was 7-10-0 over his previous 17 fights prior to the win.
Claudio Puelles (11-2-0) is off to a 4-0-0 start in the UFC and will get the chance to prove himself against an experienced veteran on Saturday.
We like the 25-year-old’s chances to pass this test, especially getting underdog odds against a fighter long past his prime.
Claudio Puelles by decision
Featherweight: Lando Vannata (+110) vs Charles Jourdain (-130)
Lando Vennata (12-5-2) has had an up-and-down career in the UFC, recording a 4-5-2 record in 11 fights since entering the promotion with a perfect 8-0-0 record.
Charles Jourdain (12-4-1) hasn’t been much better with a 3-3-1 record through his first seven UFC bouts. Both of these fighters are 3-2-1 over their last six fights and neither has a very clear edge on paper.
Jourdain brings a bit more power to this fight, but not enough for us to pass on Vennata at underdog odds in what feels a lot like a coin flip.
Lando Vennata by decision
Women’s Flyweight: Maycee Barber (-192) vs Montana De La Rosa (+167)
Maycee Barber (9-2-0) was a red-hot prospect in the UFC’s women’s division with an 8-0-0 record that included a 3-0 record with three straight knockout wins in her first three UFC betting fights. She has cooled off since then however with back-to-back losses against Roxanne Modafferi and Alexa Grasso followed by a narrow split decision win over Miranda Maverick.
Montana De La Rosa (12-6-1) knocked out Ariane Lipski in her last fight to snap out of a 1-2-1 slump. We lean towards Barber to win the fight, but De La Rosa’s grappling skills make her far more dangerous than these betting odds indicate; the betting value is on her side.
Fight To Go The Distance
Flyweight: Manel Kape (-185) vs. Su Mudaerji (+130)
Manel Kape (17-6-0) has won each of his last two UFC fights by knockout after losing his first two fights with the promotion by decision. Su Mudaerji (16-4-0) is off to a 3-1-0 start with the UFC and enters this bout riding a three-fight winning streak.
Kape has earned each of his last five wins by knockout and has only gone to the judge’s table once in his 17 career wins (11 knockouts and five submissions); that stopping power gives him the slight edge in this one.
Manel Kape To Win
