UFC on ESPN+ 30 was originally slated to take place in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, before the COVID-19 pandemic put all of the promotion’s international fights on hold. Instead, Jessica Eye and Cynthia Calvillo highlight this UFC Fight Night on Saturday at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here are the latest odds and best bets on offer at our top-rated UFC betting sites.
Women’s Flyweight: Jessica Eye (-110) vs Cynthia Calvillo (-110)
It’s rare to see such an evenly matched UFC Main Event, but this Jessica Eye (15-7) vs Cynthia Calvillo (8-1-1) matchup is a tough one to predict. Eye has been a force in the flyweight division with four wins in her last five fights; her only loss over that stretch came against UFC Women’s Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. A win here would keep her on the path to another shot at the title.
Calvillo is unbeaten in her last three fights (2-0-1) and will be making her flyweight debut in this one. After missing weight in two of her last three fights at strawweight, Calvillo might prove to be a more natural fit at 125 pounds.
This will be Calvillo’s toughest match to date and her first in a new weight class. It’s tough to predict how she’ll perform, but assuming the change of division allows Calvillo to fight more comfortably than she has before, we like her chances to announce herself as a flyweight contender with a win over Eye.
Cynthia Calvillo to win by points decision
Middleweight: Marvin Vettori (-230) vs Karl Roberson (+190)
This should be a fun fight between two young up-and-coming middleweights. Marvin Vettori (14-3-1) and Karl Roberson (9-2) have both won two straight fights and the winner of this one should crack the top 15 in the division in short order.
Vettori’s last loss came to Israel Adesanya by split decision back in 2018; since then, Adesanya has gone on to become the UFC Middleweight champion. Vettori has never been stopped in his professional MMA career, and at just 26 years old the future looks quite bright. Look for the Italian to cash in with a solid victory on Saturday night.
Marvin Vettori to win by submission
Bantamweight: Merab Dvalishvili (-909.09) vs Ray Borg (+525)
Since dropping his first two fights in the UFC, Merab Dvalishvili (10-4-0) has bounced back with three straight decision wins. He was supposed to fight Ray Borg this Saturday, but the American pulled out this week due to personal reasons. That leaves Dvalishvili with a straightforward assignment against Gustavo Lopez (11-4-0), who makes his UFC debut this weekend.
Merab Dvalishvili to win
Featherweight: Andre Fili (-225) vs Charles Jourdain (+185)
Andre Fili (20-7-0) has the clear experience advantage here with 14 UFC fights under his belt at 29 years old. His opponent, the 24-year-old Charles Jourdain (10-2-0), has fought with the promotion only twice. That experience coupled with a five-inch reach advantage makes Fili a reasonable favorite here, but don’t be surprised if the strong striking of Jourdain leads to an upset win.
Charles Jourdain to win by KO/TKO
Bantamweight: Jordan Espinosa (-160) vs Mark De La Rosa (+140)
Jordan Espinosa (14-7-0) has lost each of his last two fights and Mark De La Rosa (11-4-0) has lost each of his last three. Both of these fighters are struggling and in desperate need of a win. Espinosa has the striking edge and should be able to win if he stays on his feet, which he’ll need to do if he hopes to avoid a third straight submission loss.
Jordan Espinosa to win by points decision
UFC on ESPN+ 30 preliminary card
Women’s Flyweight: Mariya Agapova (-245) vs Hannah Cifers (+205)
Lightweight: Kevin Aguilar (-185) vs Charles Rosa (+160)
Women’s Bantamweight: Julia Avila (-525) vs Gina Manzany (+415)
Flyweight: Tyson Nam (-125) vs Zarrukh Adashev (-105)
Featherweight: Jordan Griffin (-165) vs Darrick Minner (+145)
Welterweight: Anthony Ivy (-190) vs Christian Aguilera (+165)
