UFC Vegas 15 betting preview

The main event of UFC Vegas 15 this Saturday night features two of the top heavyweights in the world in Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis. The main card leading up to that bout should provide plenty of excitement with heavy hitters aplenty. Let’s take a look at the latest odds and best bets on offer at UFC bookmakers.

Light Heavyweight: Anthony Smith (-135) vs Devin Clark (+115)

Anthony Smith (33-16-0) has had a tough run over the past two years, going just 1-3 over his last four fights. But it’s worth noting that those three losses have come against three excellent light heavyweights in Jon Jones, Glover Teixeira, and Aleksander Rakic. Devin Clark (12-4-0) is no slouch, but he is a considerable step down in talent compared to the fighters Smith has been struggling with of late. Look for the veteran to rebound with his first win of 2020 in the co-main event on Saturday night.

Heavyweight: Josh Parisian (-200) vs Parker Porter (+170)

Josh Parisian (13-3-0) enters the UFC on a six-fight winning streak, with all six of those wins coming via early-round knockouts. Parker Porter (9-6-0) didn’t look good in his UFC debut in August as he was dominated and knocked out by Chris Daukaus. This will be an action-packed slugfest, and while a Porter upset isn’t out of the question, Parisian is the younger fighter and the better athlete of the two; he should be the one that winds up on top.

Welterweight: Miguel Baeza (-150) vs Takashi Sato (+130)

Miguel Baeza (9-0-0) is off to a perfect 9-0 start to his professional career, including a 2-0 record in the UFC. Seven of his nine wins have come by way of knockout. Takashi Sato (16-3-0) is 2-1 so far in the UFC with two knockout wins and has 11 knockout wins overall in his career. This should be another thrilling fight between two strikers that will be going for the kill right out of the gate. Baeza may be the more talented fighter here, but Sato’s experience makes him well worth a shot at underdog odds.

Featherweight: Spike Carlyle (-178) vs Bill Algeo (+153)

Spike Carlyle (9-2-0) had a five-fight winning streak snapped in a loss back in May to Billy Quarantillo. It was a disappointing result for the talented young fighter, but one that shouldn’t hold him back for long. Bill Algeo (13-5-0) is a much more favorable matchup for Carlyle, as he doesn’t pose much of a power threat and should be at a severe disadvantage in the striking game. Carlyle should bounce back with a win in this spot.
