Warriors vs Celtics Game 3 best bets & odds – NBA Finals 2022

2022 NBA Finals Game 3 preview

The 2022 NBA Finals are heading to Boston after two games in San Francisco. It has been a good series so far and either team could feel confident heading into Game 3.

The Boston Celtics were able to split the two home games in California and could use that as motivation. However, the Warriors, aside from one quarter, have been the better team in this series.

Either way, it’s going to be an awesome duo of games in Boston and Game 3 could be the best yet. These are our best bets for Wednesday’s game, with odds courtesy of Bovada.

Game winner: Golden State Warriors

This should be a very telling game. It will be time for the Warriors to prove their dominance and grab a huge win away from home. They have been the better team throughout this series, and if they didn’t completely fall asleep during the fourth quarter of Game 1, they would have a commanding 2-0 lead. Ultimately, the Celtics defense looks a little lost when trying to guard Stephen Curry, and that has allowed Curry to score at will and get his teammates open looks. Other than one quarter, the Warriors have figured out the Celtics and they should be able to show that in a massive Game 3 battle.

The Celtics will make adjustments. They have tried using Marcus Smart for his defensive ability, but it appears his sprained ankle is a bigger problem than Boston are willing to accept. Smart hasn’t been able to stop Curry at all and his offensive talent has been lacking. Smart is a great competitor and he won’t bow down easy, but the Celtics may not have a choice. Other than him, the Celtics are having problems with turnovers and it appears the Warriors have figured out their offense. Unless Boston do something completely off script, the Warriors should win this and head into Game 4 with a ton of mojo.

Under 13.5 points: Marcus Smart

As above, Marcus Smart is a liability on offense right now. He only had two points in Game 2 and was consistently running into problems with the Warriors’ defensive strategy. Even if he plays his full minutes, the Celtics are at their best when Smart isn’t shooting the ball a lot. He is expected to bring defensive intensity and be a role player when the Celtics have the ball. If Boston want to win and adjust, Smart will either have to play less or miraculously heal his ankle. We are going to go with the first option. If that happens, this under should hit easily.

Over 19.5 points: Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson has struggled in this series to this point but has still attempted 15 threes over the first two games. For a shooter like Klay, the ball will eventually fall into the hoop. He is simply too good to miss as much as he has and it feels like he has been building for a big game. Expect the Celtics to have a new strategy when it comes to guarding Stephen Curry, and that may give Klay some more open looks. He is a legendary three-point shooter and will not miss a lot of open looks. Thompson is finally looking 100% after missing 18 months with an ACL injury and he should be in line for a huge Game 3. Expect Klay to start hitting his shots and cover this over with a three-point barrage.

Over 8.5 rebounds: Al Horford

In a perfect world, the Celtics would love to have their two best big men, Al Horford and Robert Williams, on the court at the same time. However, the Warriors have made that difficult, and it has led to Williams getting less minutes. This leaves Horford getting the lion’s share of playing time, and when that happens, he is likely the biggest guy on the court for Boston. These teams like to play fast, and that means there are a lot of shot opportunities. When there are a lot of shots, there are a lot of misses, and Horford will be there to grab them. He hasn’t dominated the glass up to this point, but he should be in line for an uptick of rebounds with Williams sitting more in Game 3. Horford has been one of the best players on the court for Boston this series and they need him playing well in order to have a chance of winning this series. Expect Al to hit this over with relative ease.
