AFTER six of the most peculiar NBA Finals games in basketball history, sports fans will be treated to the drama and excitement of game 7.

The true juxtaposition of this series is that no team has experienced a single figure victory in the six games that have taken place to date – yet we are going to a series-deciding game.

Game 6 saw the Cavaliers facing elimination at home for the second year running, but unlike 2015, LeBron James took over, scoring 41 points for the second game.

The true surprise of game 6 was the insolence of Steph Curry.

The reigning MVP was ejected late in the game when he was issued his sixth foul after he threw his mouthguard into the crowd; which hit a fan.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he was pleased Curry showed emotion in the aftermath of the match, but stopped short of blaming the loss on the referees.

“I’m happy he threw his mouthpiece”. Kerr said.

“That had nothing to do with the outcome. The outcome was already decided. But he had every right to be frustrated,”

“He’s the MVP of the league and he gets six fouls called on him — and three of them were ridiculous.

“Let me be clear, we did not lose because of the officiating, but three of those fouls were inappropriate, especially for the MVP of the league.”

The normally unflappable Curry was apologetic in his post-game interview.

“I’ve thrown my mouthpiece before. I usually aim at the scorer’s table. I was off aim. Definitely didn’t mean to throw it at a fan,” Curry said.

“That was obviously not where I was trying to take my frustration out.

“(In the final minutes) I didn’t think I fouled either Kyrie or LeBron, but I’ll be all right for next game.”

For the Warriors to win, the home side will need the league MVP to be at his prolific best.
