The final group in the the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia is perhaps the hardest to get a true gauge on.

Columbia Group H betting

Columbia was one of the surprises at the last World Cup and they still have many players from that squad that advanced to the quarterfinals. The attack should be a good one with the likes of Radamel Falcao, Juan Cuadrado, and James Rodriguez, who all play for major European clubs, and so is the midfield, but the defense may be an issue. Davinson Sanchez is a talented 21-year old defense, but can he take control of the back line in Russia this summer? Big question. Another question for Columbia is which squad will show up? While they have been up and down in recent friendlies they are solid all around the pitch and have one of the best attackers in the world in Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. The midfield is a very good one and they have to feed their star up front and also get back and help the defense, especially when facing Columbia in group play. The Poles have the talent and are ranked in the top 10 in the world in the FIFA rankings, but in a wide-open group anything can happen.

Senegal has to be the most athletic team in the tournament and they are fun to watch always moving the ball and trying to use pace to break down their opponents. They went undefeated in World Cup qualifying, after a controversial loss was overturned, and they have a couple of great world class players. The defense is anchored by Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli and the biggest star on the team is Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, who leads the attack is a great finisher. The midfield is a pretty good one, but has to be wary of the counter-attack moving the ball so much. Senegal has not looked great in friendlies, but their last two before the WC are facing teams playing this summer in Russia, so the squad will be ready.

Japan is a very solid tactical team that many times lets the brakes off on big matches. Will Japan let it go and cut loose this summer or will they play their usual tactical style, which focuses on time of possession and looking for the counter attack? What is concerning for the Japanese is that they have been tinkering with lineups in recent friendlies and they have not looked good with losses to Ghana and Ukraine, who are not in the World Cup. Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund is a legit attacker, but tends to fade in bigger international matches and he and the good attacking midfield have to push the envelope on the offensive side of the pitch. Japan has a good squad up and down, but will their style of play hurt them?
