2019 NCAA Football odds: Clemson short-priced in ACC betting

Clemson won the Atlantic Coastal Conference and the National Championship last season, so the question is: can any team dethrone them in 2019? Let’s look at the latest ACC title odds from the top NCAA Football betting sites.

Clemson ACC 2019 odds

Clemson won it all last season and are stacked again with star QB and Heisman candidate Trevor Lawrence leading the way in his sophomore year. He has a ton of weapons with the likes of RB Travis Etienne and WRs Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross. The offensive line may be the best in the nation and while the defense lost several key players, they have young guns ready to step up on that side of the ball. The Tigers are simply stacked and, on top of that, do not have to face Miami unless they meet in the conference title game.

Miami have the skill positions set and a solid defense, but their big question is who will play under center? N’Kosi Perry showed he was not ready as a freshman last season and will battle it out with redshirt freshman Jarren Williams and Ohio State transfer Tate Martell for the starting QB job. DeeJay Dallas was solid last season as the lead RB and will be counted on for a big season and while the defense should be great again, they did lose some key players, especially in the secondary. The Hurricanes do not face Clemson this season, so the conference schedule is in their favor.

Virginia Tech ACC 2019 odds

Tech had a majorly disappointing season last year, the first since 1992 where they were not over .500. The Hokies were young and beset by injuries, but they will look to bounce back this season. QB Ryan Willis had a pretty good year and has a solid TE and WR corps with RBs Deshawn McClease and Jalen Holston manning the backfield. There are issues with a young offensive line and the defense has to bounce back from a horrible season. The defense started nine freshman and sophomores in their bowl game in 2018 and will be more experienced this season and while Rayshard Ashby (team-high 105 tackles) returns the defense up-front is a big concern. Tech do not face Clemson and their biggest game is second-up away at Miami.

Florida State ACC 2019 odds

FSU crashed last season, finishing 5-7, and head coach Willie Taggart made sweeping changes in the coaching staff. James Blackman should be the starting QB after missing most of last season and has star WR Tamorrion Terry and RB Cam Akers in the backfield. The defense is the main issue for the Seminoles, who ranked last in the ACC in pass defense last year and were only mediocre against the run. Still, the D returns eight of the team’s top 10 tacklers.

Syracuse ACC 2019 odds

+2500 at Bovada

Syracuse won 10 games last year for the first time since 2001, but can they do it again? They have a favorable schedule, which includes Clemson at home, and they may have one of the best WR corps in the ACC. Moe Neal ran for 869 yards last season and is joined by Oklahoma transfer Abdul Adams in the backfield. Tommy DeVito takes over at QB after seeing action in eight games last season. The Orange defense returns several key players, but the LB corps is a concern.

NC State ACC 2019 odds

To say a lot is new for NC State this season would be an understatement. They have a new QB, new primary RB, new starting receivers, and three new players on the offensive line. Their defense does return nine starters, but last year’s big-name players up front are now in the NFL. The Wolfpack are in rebuild mode and while not much is expected from them this season at least their big conference games against Clemson and Syracuse are at home.

Virginia are coming off their best season since 2011 and may be a dark horse in ACC Football betting this season. The Cavaliers are led by their defense and have a rising star in QB Bryce Perkins, but 1,000-yard rusher Jordan Ellis and first-team All-ACC WR Olamide Zaccheaus are gone along with three starters from last year’s offensive line. The Cavs face Miami on the road early in the ACC season and finish at home against Virginia Tech, who they have not beaten in 15 straight seasons.
