The NFL’s Week 10 Thursday Night Football showdown will be a divisional battle between the 2-7 Carolina Panthers and the 4-5 Atlanta Falcons. On the surface, this may appear to be a pretty boring game featuring two poor teams. That being said, these sides just played each other in Week 8 and that was one of the best games of the year, with the Falcons prevailing in 37-34 in overtime. These are our free NFL betting picks for this rivalry matchup.

Falcons @ Panthers spread pick: Carolina +3

We are siding with the home underdog in this divisional matchup. As we learned two weeks ago, these teams are hard to split and this game could truly go either way. Because of that, the underdog is the play. Neither team is very trustworthy, and both boast bad defenses and pretty bad offenses. However, the Falcons have the league’s worst pass defense and the Panthers have enough offensive weapons to take advantage of that. Guys like D’Onta Foreman and D.J. Moore should carry the load offensively for the Panthers, and while it may not be pretty, we like the home team to do enough to beat a Falcons outfit that has given up less than 20 points in a game only once this season.

Panthers touchdown scorer pick: D’Onta Foreman

Last time these teams matched up, Carolina running back D’Onta Foreman had three rushing touchdowns. There is no reason that cannot happen again due to this putrid Falcon defense. While three touchdowns is definitively lofty, the Panthers should be able to move the ball with ease and Foreman is the main guy for them around the end zone. Considering what happened in Week 8, the +110 at Bovada is a steal.

Falcons touchdown scorer pick: Cordarrelle Patterson

Welcome back, Cordarrelle. After missing over a month, the Falcons running back made his triumphant return last week and garnered two touchdowns. Even though he played limited snaps, Patterson immediately assumed his role as the go-to guy for the Falcons around the red zone and showed why he is a stud. Patterson should get even more work in this game and the Panthers defense is nothing to be worried about. While we think the Panthers will win, the Falcons will be able to score, and when that happens, Patterson scores. He has five touchdowns through five games, so +100 is great value for him to add another to his impressive tally.

Marcus Mariota total interceptions: Over 0.5

This line doesn’t make a ton of sense. While the Panthers have a bad defense that has only nabbed six interceptions this season, they picked Marcus Mariota off twice last time they played. The Falcons usually don’t pass the ball a lot, but in this game we expect they will have to keep up with the Panthers. In turn, they will throw the ball more, and Mariota is not great when he has to pass. At around +140 with most betting sites, this is our favorite prop for this Thursday night contest.

Terrace Marshall Jr total receiving yards: Over 36.5

After the Panthers traded receiver Robbie Anderson to the Cardinals two weeks ago, Terrace Marshall Jr has been getting more opportunities. In the past two weeks, the second-year receiver is averaging 70 yards a game and is clearly Carolina’s number two option in the passing game. It appears like the US sportsbooks haven’t fully caught on to this, because this line is way too low. While Marshall has not been great in his first year and a half in the NFL, he is finally getting an opportunity to start and should clear this number with ease against the worst pass defense in the league.
