PokerStars will be partnering with Mount Airy Casino Resort in Pennsylvania to provide a full suite of online gambling products including sports betting and online poker.

This makes Pennsylvania the second state that PokerStars would be penetrating to offer gambling products legally, aside from New Jersey.

The senior vice president of strategy and operations USA at The Stars Group, Max Primeaux, expressed his joy about the new development.

“We’re excited to take this next step as The Stars Group looks to broaden its presence in the United States,” he said.

“In partnership with Mount Airy Casino Resort, we believe we’re well positioned to capitalize on opportunities in the Commonwealth by bringing our world-leading offerings to Pennsylvania players.”

In relation to this new partnership, Mount Airy has petitioned state regulators to enable them to offer online poker and casino.

The vice president of marketing and gaming operations for Mount Airy, Vincent Jordan said he welcomed the news as it would expand their casino offerings.

“As one of Pennsylvania’s leaders in entertainment, offering internet sports wagering and gaming and partnering with The Stars Group is the obvious next step for us to continue diversifying our casino offerings,” he said.

“Introducing internet gaming through The Stars Group will provide compelling opportunities for our customers, particularly our younger customers, who are ready to experience the next gaming challenge.”

Mount Airy will also work with established European and NJ online casino operator 888.

The deal can enhance the spread of online poker in the US with some states including Delaware, New Jersey and Nevada, reaching a multi-state poker deal to share player pools.

There is no doubt that if PokerStars gambling products were made available in New Jersey and Pennsylvania it would be very popular.

The new partnership also makes Mount Airy the second casino to offer sports betting, with Parx casino already offering this service.

The PA Gaming Control Board will meet on Wednesday to discuss introducing more regulations for the gaming industry.

Every operator willing to pay a licensing fee of $10 million can offer sports wagering in brick and mortar casinos or online in PA.

Despite the huge fee coupled with a 36% tax rate on revenue, some operators are still making the move to enter in the PA sports betting industry.
