The Wankhede Stadium is set to roar on Monday (AEST) as Mumbai Indians (MI) welcome Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for Match 20 of IPL 2025.
It’s a fixture steeped in rivalry, and while MI lead the all-time head-to-head 20-14, recent form favours the visitors.
Mumbai are languishing with just one win from four games, struggling to find consistency with both bat and ball. Their only victory came in style at home against Kolkata, but losses to CSK, GT, and most recently LSG have them desperate for points.
RCB, meanwhile, have been far more convincing. They started strong with two wins over Kolkata and Chennai, before falling to Gujarat in their last outing. Despite the setback, the likes of Phil Salt and Virat Kohli have been dangerous up top, and their bowlers have offered far more control than MI’s inconsistent attack.
Hardik Pandya, though brilliant with a 5-wicket haul against LSG, hasn’t yet found rhythm with the bat, while Suryakumar Yadav has carried the batting load, scoring 67 in their last match and 48 against GT before that. Jasprit Bumrah’s continued absence leaves a big hole for the home side to fill.
RCB’s deep batting line-up, bolstered by middle-order power from Liam Livingstone and Tim David, looks built to thrive at Wankhede. The short boundaries and true bounce should suit their aggressive style perfectly.
RCB have won four of the last six meetings and are playing with more cohesion across all departments. With MI still looking for balance, especially in their bowling, Bengaluru look better placed to edge this one. A win for Mumbai could spark their campaign to life, but the men in red will fancy their chances to pile more pressure on the struggling hosts.
Suryakumar Yadav has been Mumbai’s most reliable batter and loves playing at Wankhede. He’s scored 67, 48, and 27* in his last three innings and also enjoys facing RCB, having blasted 83 and 52 against them in the past two seasons. Take the +250 at top cricket betting sites for SKY to be MI’s top runscorer.
Josh Hazlewood has a strong record at the Wankhede, where his accuracy and bounce often trouble batters early on. With Mumbai’s top order struggling for consistency, Hazlewood’s new-ball threat makes him a solid pick to pick up multiple wickets in this clash. The +325 with Nags.bet to top RCB’s wicket count is a great price to get involved at.
