DraftKings expand US coverage through further Kambi partnership
Ever expanding United States legal sports betting and fantasy sports online sportsbook Draftkings has announced it will be expanding operations in to eight more US states through a partnership with European based sports betting technology provider Kambi.
On Thursday August 23th the sports betting pact between Kambi, which is one of the leading technology providers in Europe, and US online betting giant DraftKings was further enhanced to include a further eight US states.
The deal secure the existing partnership in the legal New Jersey sports betting market while also providing the opportunity to generate incremental revenues as and when the partnership enters the additional jurisdictions. Those additional sports betting US state markets that DraftKings will enter using Kambi technology are Tennessee, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Indiana, New York, Colorado, and Maine.
Kambi and DraftKings came together in June of 2018 and they hit it big in their partnership quickly in August in the regulated online gambling market in New Jersey. Kristian Nylén, CEO of Kambi stated that the two companies, “have developed a symbiotic relationship.” He went onto say that the relationship, “has only improved over time.”
It remains to be seen that how the new pact between the companies has any effect on the rumored deal, which swirled in June, that dealt with Draft Kings looking into purchasing Kambi rival SBTech.
Jason Robins is the CEO of DraftKings stated that the backend sportsbook technology of Kambi was an integral DraftKings “key partner.”
