Tennessee Titans vs Baltimore Ravens NFL Playoffs betting preview

The Tennessee Titans ousted the defending champion New England Patriots from the NFL Playoffs last week and now take on the Baltimore Ravens, who are the Super Bowl betting favorites.

The Titans beat the Patriots 20-13 in the Wild Card round where their ground game killed it and they intercepted Tom Brady late to ice the game. They are double-digit road underdogs facing a Ravens team that has not lost since Week 4 and has the likely league MVP in Lamar Jackson.

The Ravens have won 12 straight games and lead the league in both scoring and rushing yards per game. Jackson has been awesome this season, rushing for 1,206 yards to break Michael Vicks’ record of most rushing yards in a season by a quarterback.

These teams did not face each other this season. The Ravens are 7-1 at home this term and 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five games against the Titans, who are 6-3 on the road.

In their win over the Patriots last week the big stars were the Titans’ defense and Derrick Henry. Tennessee were outgained 307 yards to 272, but they forced two turnovers while only committing one and shut out the Pats in the second half.

Henry was a beast in the New England game, rushing for 182 yards and a score at 5.4 yards per carry. He pretty much was the offense, as Ryan Tannehill was only 8/15 for 72 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Henry led the league in rushing yards this season and in his last two games has totaled 393 yards. He has a tough assignment in this game facing a Baltimore run defense that ranks fifth in the league. The Ravens also have a stout pass defense that ranks sixth in the league.

Baltimore have not lost at home since a 33-28 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs in their third game of the season. Jackson and lead running back Mark Ingram did not play in the last game of the regular season. Both of them rushed for over 1,000 yards this term, while the team’s third-leading rusher in Gus Edwards has 711 rushing yards.

The Ravens are a run-first team, but Jackson passed for 36 touchdowns and only had five interceptions. Tight end Mark Andrews lead the team with 852 yards and the leading receiver was Marquise Brown with 584 yards.

Tennessee’s defense ranks 12th in the league against the run and 24th against the pass. Titans fans will hope for another big performance from a run defense that kept the Patriots to only 98 rushing yards and held the Houston Texans to 109 in their last game of the regular season.

Titans @ Ravens NFL Playoffs betting predictions

Tennessee Titans +10 at -111.11 with Bovada

The Ravens are rested after their bye last week, but will they be a little rusty? Jackson, Ingram and a few other key starters have had a fortnight off having sat out the season finale. The Titans come into this game with a lot of confidence after beating the Patriots on the road last week, and we see Henry having another big game on the ground. The Tennessee defense will not be able to keep Jackson and company from racking up the yards; however, with Henry moving the chains, the Titans will keep this game relatively close. The Ravens should get the win and move onto the AFC title game, but the Titans will do enough to cover a generous spread.
