Unibet Sportsbook goes live in Iowa

Unibet news

Iowa bettors have one more mobile sports betting platform to choose from following the launch of Unibet Sportsbook in the state this week.

On Wednesday, Kindred Group – Unibet’s parent company – announced that it had entered the regulated Iowa sports betting market, marking the 13th brand for the state.

The Iowa launch is part of the brand’s US expansion strategy, and it is the second regulated market for the Unibet Sportsbook since Kindred announced a multi-state market access deal with gaming and entertainment giant Caesars Entertainment in January last year.

The terms of the agreement granted Kindred Group the rights to pursue online gaming and sports betting licenses in multiple states including Indiana and Iowa, over a 10-year period.

Unibet’s license in the Hawkeye State is tied to the Caesars Entertainment-owned Harrah’s Council Bluffs Hotel and Casino.

Following the successful launch in Iowa, Unibet now has an online presence in five US states. The others are New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Virginia.

Unibet launches just in time for football season

The timing of Unibet’s debut in Iowa is a masterstroke.

The launch coincides with the start of the 2021/2022 NFL season, which is on schedule to kick-off on September 9. Football is one of the most popular betting markets for US bettors, and the operator is hoping to capitalize on the busy sports schedule.

The brand has promised to provide its Iowa customers with an unmatched football betting experience.

“We are truly excited to expand our Midwest footprint via the multistate agreement with Caesars Interactive Entertainment and bring a top sports betting offering to the Iowa customers,” said Kindred’s Senior Vice President of US operations, Manuel Stan.

“The Iowans’ passion for football is unparalleled, and we are confident we can bring an exciting product just in time for the start of the football season.

“From Iowa’s biggest rivalries between the two home college teams, Cyclones and Hawkeyes, to the anticipation of its bordering state, Kansas City’s journey to the Super Bowl – we are expecting an increasing interest from returning customers as well as newly acquired customers.”

Besides football, the book will offer lines on several other sports markets including basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, golf, tennis, NASCAR, and MMA.

Iowa players can download the Kindred app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Kindred on track to launch in Arizona

Unibet’s recent debut in the Hawkeye State is a step in the right direction for Kindred as it seeks to extend its footprint in the regulated US iGaming and online sports betting markets.

It its official statement regarding the Iowa launch, Kindred revealed that it is working on introducing the Unibet brand to Arizonians when the state’s regulated market takes off on September 9. The brand is among the 18 operators cleared by the Arizona Gaming Commission to offer regulated wagering in the jurisdiction last week.

Arizona will be the sixth state for the Unibet app. The sportsbook will partner with the Quechan Tribe for its operations in the Grand Canyon State.

Also, the company has several more market access deals for Illinois, California, Ohio, and three more states.
