Arsenal, Inter salute in Champions League quarterfinal clashes

Declan Rice was the hero as the Gunners blasted Real Madrid off the park, while Inter struck late to snatch the win in Munich.

Arsenal and Internazionale each have one toe in the last four of the UEFA Champions League after claiming crucial wins in their respective quarterfinal clashes on Tuesday night.

The Gunners made a mess of Real Madrid in London, with Declan Rice nailing two stunning free-kicks before Mikel Moreno added another classy finish to seal a 3-0 victory.

That scoreline will be hard to swallow for Madrid shotstopper Thibaut Courtois, who had no real chance with any of the goals and made a number of superb saves to keep his side in the contest.

To make matters worse for the defending champions, they will be without Eduardo Camavinga for the return leg next Thursday after he was sent off deep into injury time for a second bookable offense.

Regardless, Carlo Ancelotti’s men are -125 favorites at Nags.bet to win at home on April 17, with Arsenal paying juicy odds of +275 to salute at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Over in Bavaria, Inter snatched a 2-1 win on the road against Bayern Munich thanks to a late winner from Davide Frattesi.

The German giants controlled proceedings in the first half-hour and peppered the visitors’ goal, with Harry Kane missing a gilt-edged chance when he clipped the wrong side of the upright from close range in the 26th minute.

That profligacy proved costly, as Inter then worked their way into the game and took the lead through a brilliant outside-of-the-foot finish from Lautaro Martinez in the 38th minute.

Both teams had their share of chances after that, yet the score remained unchanged until the evergreen Thomas Muller struck in the 85th minute to square the ledger.

There was to be another twist in the tale, however, as Inter sprung on the counter a few minutes later and clinched the win with a sharp take by Frattesi from Carlos Augusto’s fired-in cross.

Those away goals could prove telling when the two sides head to Milan for the second leg, where the best soccer betting sites have Inter and Bayern locked at +155 apiece to win.

Champions League action continues on Wednesday with Barcelona hosting Borussia Dortmund while Aston Villa face Paris Saint-Germain in France.

Barca (-303.03) and PSG (-277.78) are clear favorites with top online bookmakers, meaning there is plenty of value about BVB (+750) and Villa (+700) to salute on the road.
