Bengals @ Cowboys game preview

The Cincinnati Bengals head to Dallas as clear favorites to beat the Cowboys on Monday night as they look to break a run of three straight losses.

Top NFL betting sites have the visitors slated at -250 for the win, while the hosts are +200 outsiders despite winning their last two games. The line is set at -5.5 points.

It has been a tough season for the Bengals, who sit 4-8 despite putting up excellent offensive performances. On six occasions they have lost while putting up more than 25 points, including each of the last three weeks.

Last Sunday, the Bengals fell 44-38 to the Steelers in an exciting divisional matchup. Despite quarterback Joe Burrow throwing for 309 yards and three touchdowns, Pittsburgh were forced to punt just once for the day — a constant theme of Cincinnati’s season.

The Bengals hold the second-worst defensive record in the NFL, but on offense it’s a different story. Burrow leads the league in passing yards and touchdowns, while wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase leads the NFL in receiving yards and touchdowns.

Cincinnati coach Zac Taylor has confirmed that linebacker Logan Wilson (knee) and kicker Evan McPherson (groin) will miss rest of the season. Offensive tackle Orlando Brown junior is also in doubt with a fibula injury.

The Cowboys were too good for the Giants last Thursday, winning the Thanksgiving clash 27-20. Running back Rico Dowdle led the way with 112 rushing yards and a touchdown, while the defense combined for six sacks.

With Cooper Rush under center, the Cowboys have been far from convincing, averaging just 19 points per game. There are also major concerns on the other side of the ball, as they hold the third-worst defensive record in the NFL.

Dallas offensive guard Zach Martin has been ruled out for the season with an ankle injury. Tackle Tyler Guyton (leg), safety Juanyeh Thomas (knee) and linebacker Nick Vigil (foot) have also been absent from training this week.

However, in more positive news, tight end Jake Ferguson, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and cornerback Amani Oruwariye are all in the frame to return for the Cowboys.

Bengals @ Cowboys betting strategy

While the Bengals have been unlucky this season, expect them to be far too good for the Cowboys. Both sides have been terrible defensively this season, but the Cincinnati offense stands out. This game has the potential to be a blowout, so back the Bengals to cover the line of -5.5 points at -111.11 with leading NFL bookmakers.

Backing the Bengals’ recent form, this match should have plenty of points. There have been over 60 points scored in each of their last four games, while it’s the same story with the last three Cowboys fixtures. At -111.11 with top online sportsbooks, back this game to have over 49.5 points.

While Chase earns most of the headlines in the Cincinnati offense, another clear redzone target is receiver Tee Higgins. The 25-year-old has been in excellent form, scoring five touchdowns in the last five weeks while averaging over 10 targets per game. At +110 with major sports betting sites, back Higgins to find the endzone once again.
