Betway announced as ESL One Cologne 2017 major betting partner

One of the United Kingdom’s biggest online sportsbooks has announced a partnership with ESL, becoming a key sponsor of esports event ESL One Cologne running July 7 – 9.

ESL and Betway confirmed the collaboration earlier today, stating “Betway will enhance the ESL One Cologne viewing experience by adding live odds to the broadcast” and that the partnership came about due to Betway’s active involvement in esports betting integrity, joining the esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) as a member in 2016.

“We are delighted to partner with ESL for Cologne, a landmark event of the CS:GO calendar,” said Betway’s Anthony Werkman in a press release. “With CS:GO being the most competitive it has ever been, we can’t wait to see the world’s top teams battle it out.”

“We are sure fans will appreciate our real-time odds on the broadcast, enabling them to test their knowledge against our team of expert traders and we wish them all the best.”

ESL One Cologne is one of the biggest Counter Strike: Global Offensive esports tournaments in the world, with over 16 teams from around the globe, including Cloud9, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Team Liquid competing for a major prize pool of US$250,000 and the top trophy in LANXESS Arena.

The playoffs are a single elimination bracket, with quarter finals and semi finals played as best of three’s and the Grand final as a best of five matches.

It is expected over 14,000 people will attend the 2017 ESL One event, with tickets still available to purchase here, though you need to be 16 or older to attend.

Betway joins Logitech and Paysafecard as a Silver Partner of ESL One Cologne, while American multinational corporation and technology company Intel is the presenting partner of the event.

Established in 2005, Betway has fast evolved into one of Europe and the UK’s most popular poker, racing and sports betting sites and has offered esports betting markets since 2015.

Betway has also been a sponsor of one of the teams competing in ESL One Cologne, Ninjas in Pyjamas, since 2016.
