Covers, Postmedia seal content deal ahead of Ontario launch

Sport betting information website Covers.com and Postmedia Network – both Canadian companies – have entered a partnership to provide content to both sets of customers. With this agreement, Postmedia customers will gain access to increasing betting coverage from Covers.

The information will be accessible through Postmedia’s news outlet, supplementing its existing sports and betting services.

“Our partnership with Covers is a wonderful addition to our already established sports coverage offering professional insights from the growing area of sports betting,” stated Mary Anne Lavalee, Executive Vice President at Postmedia.

“Postmedia is happy to offer our broad and highly engaged clients with deep insights as they discover this new aspect of sports entertainment, emerging from the expected changes to legislation.”

This agreement comes as Postmedia launches a sports betting newsletter, Closing Lines, in time for the debut of Ontario’s regulated iGaming market on Monday, April 4.

When the online betting and gambling services go live this week, Ontario – Canada’s most populated province – is projected to be a highly profitable venture.

With more than 10 million potential gamblers in the province, many of them on the lookout for betting tips, this deal between Postmedia and Covers will likely be seen as beneficial.
