EPL betting tips for Thursday, March 10

EPL fans are in for a little treat as they will have four games in store for them this Thursday. The season is gradually coming to a close, and while Manchester City seem like they have the title on lock, there are still a lot of things that will make the final run interesting. The main one is the Champions League qualifying race which will feature four teams duking it out for one spot. These midweek games will not include any of those teams, but there are still some fun storylines that casual Premier League fans can dig their teeth into. Here are the best bets for this Thursday.

Newcastle United at Southampton

Southampton have had a respectable, yet uninspiring season. They are in ninth place with 35 points through 27 games. For the most part, they are predictable. They win the games you would expect them to win and lose the ones where they are expected to lose. They are heavily favored with the sportsbooks in this game and it doesn’t entirely make sense. Southampton are at home, which is beneficial for them but are coming off a 4-0 loss to an inferior opponent.

Newcastle, on the other hand, have been scorching hot recently. After an awful start, Newcastle got new owners and a financial influx that allowed them to strengthen their squad. They are in 14th place with 28 points, but have been much better in their recent fixtures. They haven’t lost in 6 games and that stretch includes 5 wins. That is a remarkable turnaround for a team that was flirting with relegation in the early parts of the season. Newcastle should keep up their momentum and potentially win this away game.

Newcastle United +1

Aston Villa at Leeds United

Leeds have a new coach but have had the same results. Since bringing in American Jesse Marsch to coach, they have yet to win and their slide down the table has continued. Leeds now have 23 points and are in 16th place. Whispers of relegation are starting to begin and they need to turn it around. They have lost five in a row and it will not get any easier. Leeds are simply dealing with too many injuries and playing too poorly to be trusted in any matchup.

Aston Villa also has a new coach and it is Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard. They have played well under him and now sit in 11th place with 33 points. It’s not super impressive, but they have raised their level of play and won their last two matches. It simply comes down to recent form in this battle and while these two teams are somewhat equal on paper, Aston Villa have been better in practice and should win this game.

Aston Villa to win
