DraftKings launches new sportsbook at Golden Nugget Lake Charles

DraftKings has announced the opening of a new and permanent retail sportsbook at Golden Nugget Lake Charles Hotel, slated for Thursday, September 1. The mega sportsbook will be the biggest in Louisiana, replacing the temporary structure that was erected in November 2021.

After 10 months of development, the 12,000 square-foot new retail sportsbooks will boast 3,200 square feet of an LED TV screen in about 300 lounge seats with dedicated VIP areas, projecting live games and availing guests to relax and enjoy the viewing.

In addition, the casino will feature 16 video poker gaming machines, three blackjack tables, and five ticket cages for customers to place their sports bets. There will also be about 30 self-service sports betting kiosks spread across the premises for the customer who would prefer to take matters into their own hands.

Asides from these betting facilities, there will also be a variety of dining options that DraftKings Bar & Grill will provide. According to a statement put out by both parties: “The DraftKings Sportsbook will also offer a full-service restaurant, the DraftKings Sportsbook Bar & Grill, with a variety of dining options during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including a ‘quick grab’ menu.”

It continued: “The restaurant will serve popular game day favourites from burgers to wings and a variety of items in between, as well as a wide selection of beer, cocktails, and frozen drinks at its full-service bar.”

DraftKings, the multi-channel sports betting and gaming technologies provider, started its partnership with Fertitta Entertainment Inc. when it began transacting to acquire Tilman Fertitta’s Golden Nugget Online Gaming last August. It later completed the acquisition at approximately $1.6bn in May 2022. DraftKings intends to make more of the partnership as time goes on.
