EPL 2021/22 Matchweek 3 betting picks & top odds

Best bets for Premier League MW3

The opening fortnight of the 2021/22 EPL season is behind us, and five sides sit in the comfortable position of having two wins from their opening two encounters. Matchweek 3 is fast approaching, with plenty of value to be found over the weekend with the top EPL betting sites.

Manchester City v Arsenal

Saturday, August 28 at 12:30pm BST
Arsenal have the daunting task of heading to Etihad Stadium to take on reigning champions Manchester City, who are coming off a breathtaking 5-0 win over Norwich in front of their home crowd. City will head into the game as near-unbackable favourites in head-to-head markets, as their opponents have been nothing short of dreadful to begin the EPL campaign. Brentford put two goals on Arsenal in Matchweek 1, and Chelsea did the same in Matchweek 2 without getting out of second gear at any stage during the match.

The news goes from bad to worse for Arsenal, with marquee off-season signing Ben White out of action having tested positive to COVID-19. We expect the Citizens to be too classy in all facets of the game and further sink Arsenal into the mire. Get on the defending champs to cover the -2.0 handicap.

Manchester City (-2.0)

Newcastle v Southampton

Saturday, August 28 at 3pm BST
Newcastle and Southampton have just the one point combined between them in the opening fortnight of the 2021/22 EPL season and have hardly looked inspiring. The Magpies showed a fair bit of promise in the first half against West Ham in Matchweek 1, but it is hard to get excited about them following a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa. Southampton did enough to split the points with title contenders Manchester United last week, albeit against an underperforming United side. We expect this to be a tight tussle with points to be shared – potentially in a 0-0 draw – at St James’ Park.

Brighton v Everton

Saturday, August 28 at 3pm BST
One of the surprise packets in the opening fortnight of the EPL season has been Brighton, scoring a total of four goals while shipping just one in their wins over Burnley and Watford. Everton have shown similar attacking prowess, netting five goals from their first two matches, but have also conceded three in the meantime. We expect this to be one of the more entertaining matches of the weekend, with both teams expected to find the back of the net.

Both teams to score
