Although the Germans lost their last meeting with Hungary, expect Julian Nagelsmann’s side to dominate the encounter in front of their home crowd.

Bottom of Group A after suffering the heaviest defeat of Matchday 1, Scotland have a mountain to climb against Switzerland. Unfortunately for them, the Swiss — who beat Hungary 3-1 in their opener — look destined to book their place in the knockout stages with a second consecutive victory.

Slovenia vs Serbia

Thursday, June 20 – 3pm CEST – Allianz Arena

Serbia sit bottom of Group C having lost their opener to England, while Slovenia are third after salvaging a draw against Denmark. Anticipate this to be a low-scoring affair, as witnessed in three of their last five meetings.

Denmark vs England

Thursday, June 20 – 6pm CEST – Commerzbank Arena

Although their win against Serbia was far from convincing, England sit top of Group C thanks to Denmark’s 1-1 draw with Slovenia. A rematch of the EURO 2020 semifinals, where England won, expect the Three Lions to grind out a win against the Danes.

Both victorious in their EURO 2024 openers, the race to lead Group B is well and truly on as Spain face Italy in the biggest clash of the first stage. Expect plenty of goalmouth action, as both teams have scored in four of their last five meetings.

Slovakia vs Ukraine

Second in Group E after their unexpected 1-0 win over Belgium, Slovakia line up against a Ukraine side that shockingly lost 3-0 to Romania. Desperate not to make an early exit with a second consecutive loss, Ukraine will look to La Liga Golden Boot winner Artem Dovbyk to get them a much-needed win.

Poland vs Austria

Friday, June 21 – 6pm CEST – Olympiastadion

Winless in their openers, both Poland and Austria have the unwelcome assignment of competing with France and the Netherlands for places in the last 16. These teams last met in 2019 and managed just one goal between them across two matches, so it would be no surprise if this was another low-scoring affair.

Friday, June 21 – 9pm CEST – Red Bull Arena

With three points secured in their opening matches, tournament favourites France lock horns with the Netherlands as the race to lead Group D intensifies. Although this should be an explosive encounter, Les Bleus — who have won six of their last seven meetings with the Dutch — should carry the day.
