The 2024 F1 World Championship continues this weekend as we head to the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix.
As the fastest circuit on the F1 calendar, this is an excellent venue for another sprint weekend. The action kicks off with a sole practice session from 12:30pm local time on Friday, June 28, with the sprint race at 12pm Saturday and the main race at 3pm on Sunday, June 30.
Last Sunday in Barcelona, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen secured his third win in four races. McLaren’s Lando Norris closely followed, while Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton rounded out the podium.
As a result of the victory, Verstappen (219) has extended his lead to 69 points, while Norris (150) has jumped into second place ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc (148).
With four wins at the circuit, Verstappen is the clear favourite with F1 betting sites. However, Norris has the shortest odds for any non-Red Bull driver this year. Despite a couple of disappointing races, Leclerc — who won the race in 2022 — should still be competitive.
The Mercedes have been very impressive in the past two races with both cars finishing inside the top four, while Red Bull’s Sergio Perez continues to slide down the standings. Look for value in the remaining cars for a points finish.

With five podiums in the last six races, Lando Norris is the closest competition that Max Verstappen has seen in years. He finally secured his first race win at the Miami GP in May and has since pushed up the drivers’ championship. He finished just 2.2 seconds behind Verstappen in Spain, so back Norris to be even better this weekend, securing another race win at +300 with leading F1 bookmakers.
Since receiving their upgrades for the Canadian Grand Prix, Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton have secured consecutive top-four finishes. Now a genuine rival for the Ferrari and McLaren drivers, the two-time winner at the track should be optimistic about his hopes for this race. A podium finish for Hamilton offers great value at +240 with the best sports betting sites.
After failing to score a point in the first seven races of the season, Alpine’s Pierre Gasly has secured top-10 finishes in each of the last three events. With mid-season changes drastically improving the car, Alpine are now in direct competition with the likes of Aston Martin and RB for the final points positions. He secured a points finish at Austria in 2023, so back the Frenchman to do so again at -175.44 with top online bookmakers.
