Gambling.com Group gearing up for Ontario sports betting launch

Gambling.com Group is ready to offer its clients acquisition and marketing services to online sports betting and iGaming brands when they go live on Monday, April 4, in Ontario.

With several gambling companies acquiring licences in the run-up to the debut of online betting in Ontario, Gambling.com Group can support these operators in growing their user bases.

Having over 50 websites to its name, the group serves as an affiliate, publishing free-to-use platforms for clients to compare online gambling services. Some of these websites are gambling.com, bookies.com, and rotowire.com.

Making use of its network of websites, Gambling.com Group can help its partner betting brands by promoting their services and displaying their odds more frequently, with the target of boosting player acquisition.

“The debut of regulated online sports betting and iGaming is a huge landmark and fulfilment for Ontario’s gaming market. The province is taking the right step by maintaining the barriers to entry low and allowing several betting companies to enter the market,” said Charles Gillespie, CEO of Gambling.com Group.

“This will bring about healthy competition and largely be beneficial to clients as the operators with the best products and services rise to the top. Gambling.com Group is well placed to help operators and customers succeed in this emerging and exciting market.”

It is projected that the Ontario iGaming market could generate as much as CA$1 billion (US$800m) in its first year of operation.

Companies such as Rivalry Corporation, 888 Holdings, and Kindred Group’s Unibet have all acquired their operating licences. Also, the likes of Kambi Group and Relax Gaming have received supplier licences.

“It is fascinating to have a market debut on Monday 4 April for Ontario, marking the first licenced sports betting and online casino market in Canada,” said Caroline Smart, Vice President of Gambling.com Group.

After several years of only having one legal choice through the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, the wide range of offerings in the Ontario marketplace will ensure there are plenty of options for customers.
