The Huskies are a solid 12-2 at home this season and will look to put a scare into the Cougars, who only have one loss all season.

Houston is riding an eight-game winning streak and they are in first place in the AAC with a one-game lead over Cincinnati, who they beat in their last game. The Cougars have a solid offense, but a great defense that ranks sixth in the nation only giving up an average of 60.7 ppg.

UCONN has lost two in a row and three of their last two games, but both of their last two losses were on the road. They are only 4-7 in conference play and 13-11 overall and they need to go on a team and MUST win this game to have any chance at an at-large NCAA Tournament bid. The team is led by an offense that has fallen flat in the last two games where their defense was not great either giving up 81 and 78 points, respectively, in two losses.

This season UCONN is 12-2 at home and Houston is 6-1 on the road.

Houston won their 9th in a row in their last game where they were at home and beat 25th ranked Cincinnati 65-58. The Cougars played killer defense in the game holding the Bearcats to 33.3% shooting while they shot a solid 49.1% from the floor. However, the game was not a big blowout, as Houston committed 13 turnovers and only forced four and they gave up 19 offensive rebounds. Corey Davis Jr. and reserve Dejon Jarreau were the leading scorers with each going for 16 points.

Davis Jr. (15.5 ppg) and Armoni Brooks (13.8 ppg) are the only two players for the Cougars averaging in double figures on the season. Davis Jr. scored 50 points in two games before going for 16 in the win over Cincy.

UCONN was on the road in their last game losing to Memphis 78-71 where they did not have a good shooting game. They only shot 40.3% from the floor allowing Memphis to shoot 48.2%. Four of five Huskies’ starters scored at least 13 points led by Tyler Polley with 20 points on 7/12 shooting and while Christian Vital was one rebound shy of a double-double wth 13 points and nine rebounds he was only 4/14 from the floor and he had seven turnovers.

Jalen Adams leads three players for UCONN averaging over 12 ppg at 17 ppg, but he missed the last game with an ankle injury and is out for this game as well. Vital ranks 2nd on the team in scoring at 14 ppg and before going for 13 points in the loss to Memphis he had gone for 18 points in each of his previous two games.
