The Indianapolis Colts have lost three in a row and are desperate for a win as they head to the Big Easy to take on the playoffs-bound New Orleans Saints in NFL Week 15.

Things do not look good for the Colts in the playoff picture. While not officially eliminated, they will need to win out and still may need some help. They have lost five of their last six games to drop below .500, and they have given up at least 31 points in each of their last two games.

The Saints are in the NFL Playoffs, but they suffered a costly loss in their last game. They fell to the San Francisco 49ers 48-46 in a barnburner to fall one game back of the 49ers in the race for top spot in the NFC. New Orleans had won three in a row before that defeat.

The Colts dropped their third game in a row with a 38-35 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While they forced four turnovers and only committed one, they were outgained 542 yards to 309 and their pass defense was taken for 467 passing yards.

Jacoby Brissett passed for 251 yards with two TD and no interceptions in the loss to the Bucs. He only had two touchdowns and three picks in his previous three games. The QB did not get much help from the run game in the loss to Tampa, as Marlon Mack led the team in rushing yards with only 38 and averaged a paltry 2.9 yards per carry.

Mack had averaged 87 yards per game in the four games previous to Tampa Bay. In that game he faced the top-ranked run defense in the NFL. This Sunday he faces a New Orleans run defense that ranks fifth in the league but gave up 162 rushing yards to the 49ers.

The Saints racked up 465 yards but gave up 516 in the shootout with the 49ers and lost on a last-second field goal. Drew Brees had a great game, going 29/40 for 349 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions, and star WR Michael Thomas had 134 receiving yards and a score. Latavius Murray rushed for 69 yards, while Alvin Kamara only rushed for 25 yards on 13 carries.

Brees leads a New Orleans offense that ranks fifth in the league in ppg. This is not a good matchup for the Colts, as their pass defense only ranks 22nd in the league. Indy have given up an average of 357.7 passing yards in their last three games.

Colts vs Saints betting predictions

New Orleans Saints -8 at -111.11 with Bovada

Brees had a huge game against a solid San Francisco pass defense and now faces a Colts D that was lit up in their last game. Look for Brees and the New Orleans offense to pepper the scoreboard as they cover the spread and kill off Indy’s playoff hopes.
