The Houston Texans are on the road to face the Tennessee Titans in a key AFC South matchup in NFL Week 15. The Texans and Titans are tied at 8-5 and Houston will host Tennessee in the season finale, so the division is up for grabs.

The Texans had won two in a row before losing 38-24 to the Denver Broncos in their last game. The loss dropped them from outright first in the AFC South into a tie with the Titans. They had given up a total of 39 points in the two wins before giving up 38 to the Broncos and rookie QB Drew Lock.

The Titans have won four in a row and six of their last seven games. Ryan Tannehill has had a huge resurgence and Tennessee have averaged 37.5 ppg in their last four games. In their last game they beat the Oakland Raiders 42-21.

On the season the Titans are 4-2 at home and the Texans are 3-3 on the road. The home team has covered the spread in the last six games between these division rivals.

The Texans had more overall yards (414-391) than the Broncos last week but committed three turnovers and forced one. On top of that, their defense failed to show up in the first half where they were outscored 31-3.

Deshawn Watson passed for 292 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions and DeAndre Hopkins had 120 receiving yards. Watson rushed for 44 yards and Carlos Hyde rushed for 73 yards, averaging a solid 5.2 yards per carry. Watson had only been picked off two times in his previous five game before his two-interception performance against the Broncos.

The Titans have not given up more than 21 points in any of their last three games. However, on the season they only rank 25th in the league in pass defense but a solid 10th in run defense.

Tennessee poured on the offense in their win over Oakland, racking up nearly 600 total yards. Their defense came up big in the second half as they shut out the Raiders on their own patch.

Tannehill passed for 391 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in that game and was not sacked once. In his last four games he has nine touchdowns and has been picked off once.

Derrick Henry continues to be the workhorse in the Tennessee backfield. In the Oakland win he rushed for 103 yards with two touchdowns and averaged 5.7 yards per carry. He has the second-most rushing yards in the league and has rushed for an average of 149.8 yards per game in his last four outings.

There is a question over Henry’s fitness after he dealt with a hamstring issue in the Raiders game. While he is listed as uncertain to face the Texans, it would be a big surprise if he did not play.

Houston only rank 27th in the league in pass defense and 18th in run defense. In the loss to Denver they gave up 301 passing yards and allowed Drew Lock to throw three first-half touchdowns.

The Titans will stay hot at home with Tannehill and Henry each having a solid game. The Texans will show up for this one and keep it close, but their suspect defense will be their demise. Tennessee will get the win and cover the spread as they take sole possession of first place in the AFC South.
