March Madness Final Four best bets & picks | Saturday, April 2

Villanova Wildcats vs Kansas Jayhawks picks

It’s finally here. After 68 teams started out in March Madness, we are left with four. It’s sad that the tournament is coming to a close but it was a great tournament. After the beginning of the tournament was filled with upsets and crazy Cinderella runs, there are now four blue blood programs remaining. It’s an ideal way for the tournament to go. Everyone wants the wild stories early on but by the end, people want to see the most competitive basketball possible. And that’s what we have. Here is a pick for each of tomorrow’s games.

Villanova Wildcats vs Kansas Jayhawks

The story of this game is an unfortunate one. Towards the end of Villanova’s win over Houston, one of their most important players, Justin Moore, tore his achilles and will be out for a while. This drastically hinders Villanova heading into this game and it remains to be seen how they will adjust. Villanova is a team full of top end talent but not a lot of depth. Now, they are stretched even thinner and towards the end of the tournament, fatigue will be a huge factor. Everything looks bad for Villanova but with their coach, Jay Wright, they can truly beat anyone. However, the same can be said for their opponent.

Kansas has cruised to the Final Four and has dealt with the least amount of drama up to this point. They have a loaded team and will be able to handle Villanova’s defense with their immense size. The aforementioned loss of Justin Moore will allow Kansas’ best player, Ochai Agbaji to dominate even more. While a fully loaded Villanova team can definitely beat Kansas, they are dealing with too much adversity. Take Kansas -4 and watch them cruise into the championship.

North Carolina Tar Heels vs Duke Blue Devils

This is the game of all games. North Carolina and Duke have never played before in March Madness and now they match up in legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski’s last season. It truly is a story that only March Madness could provide and college basketball fans are pumped. This is a matchup between two bitter rivals and when that happens, logic doesn’t seem to matter as much.

Logic would say Duke is the pick. They have a loaded team with five potential first round NBA prospects and have been the better team all season. North Carolina limped into the tournament but have been playing great basketball and will come into this game with a ton of momentum. They beat the defending champion Baylor Bears en route to this game and will truly believe they can beat the big bad Blue Devils. They may not have as much talent as Duke but that doesn’t matter as much at this point. It comes down to motivation and coaching and UNC has that in bunches. Take them +4 and watch them work to knock off their bitter rivals and continue their impressive run.
