2018 Wimbledon Men’s final: Novak Djokovic vs. Kevin Anderson

It’s that time of year for tennis betting fans. The men’s final from Wimbledon 2018 is set as Novak Djokovic will face Kevin Anderson. The former joined Anderson in the championship match after defeating Rafael Nadal on Saturday.
Both finalists are there after torturous five-set semifinals. Djokovic beat Nadal 10-8 in the 5th while Anderson defeated Isner 26-24. Fatigue should be an issue for both players but Anderson’s conditioning should really be put to the test.
The South African has played 14 sets of tennis since Monday. A 26-24 set, with 50 games in it, could be viewed as two matches in itself without looking at the other sets. But Anderson has played 7 tiebreakers additional to that set and a 13-11 set against Federer on top of the marathon set he played against Isner. There is no way to keep faith in the South African at this stage, keeping in mind that he is 6’8″ and his lumbering movements have to be taking a huge toll on his lower limbs right now.
Djokovic probably won’t feel perfect heading into the men’s final. But the Serb will know how to move Anderson around and the South African won’t like that at all. That ability to get Anderson moving is one that Isner certainly didn’t have in the semifinal. The Serb is also the more proven grass courter, by far, and the more proven overall player, by far.
The betting odds in the match aren’t great for those looking to back Djokovic. He has come in as a big favourite, priced at just $1.16 with 888sport. Punters should go with a game handicap on Djokovic of -5.5 with the same firm at $1.78 as this one could get out of hand for Anderson.
