Kansas City Royals @ Minnesota Twins

The Twins stopped their two-game losing streak with an exciting, 10-7 win over Kansas City on Friday. Sonny Gray will be going for Minnesota on Sunday, who the Twins hoped would be a reliable free agent addition to shore up what looked like a weak pitching staff. Well, Gray got hurt and it didn’t matter, as the Twins have been one of the best pitching staffs in baseball thus far.

Kansas City hasn’t seen Gray, so he’ll have the upper hand over the Royals’ batters early. He’s also been quite good in six starts this season, going 2-1 with a 2.60 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 27.2 innings pitched.

Zack Greinke’s return to the Royals hasn’t been triumphant. He’s 0-3 with a 4.53 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. Twins’ hitters have tagged him with a .713 OPS in 56 at-bats, collecting 17 hits, but just three extra-base hits. Gio Urshela is four-of-eight against Greinke, with a double and a walk, so placing a player prop bet on Urshela to collect multiple total bases seems reasonable.

Toronto Blue Jays @ Los Angeles Angels

Former Twin Jose Berrios is expected to start for Toronto, and he hasn’t pitched well this season. He’s got a 4.75 ERA and 1.44 WHIP, and he’s struggled with the Angels as well. Los Angeles batters are 13-for-47, with seven of those 13 hits going for extra bases, against Berrios. It all adds up to an OPS against Berrios of .848.

Shohei Ohtani seems especially comfortable at the plate against Berrios. He’s four-of-12 with three doubles and a home run. Bet on Ohtani to collect multiple total bases (maybe three or more) or even multiple hits on Sunday.

Patrick Sandoval has been money for Los Angeles, going 3-1 with a 1.79 ERA and 1.17 WHIP this season. Matt Chapman and George Springer of the Blue Jays have both struggled against Sandoval, going a combined 0-for-11 against him. They’re the only two Toronto batters familiar with Sandoval, so the advantage will be with the pitcher in this one. Take Los Angeles on the moneyline at -110, and parlay the Angels on the moneyline with the Twins for +188 odds.

Baltimore’s Cedric Mullins and/or Ryan Mountcastle vs. Boston’s Nick Pivetta

You might want to place a player prop bet on Orioles’ Cedric Mullins to collect multiple total bases against Boston’s starter, Nick Pivetta. Mullins is seven-for-18 with a double and a homer against Pivetta.

Baltimore’s Ryan Mountcastle has a 1.046 OPS against Pivetta, going four-of-15 with a double and two home runs. You could place the same bet on Mountcastle as you did on Mullins, or pick Mountcastle to collect multiple hits on Sunday. At least one if not both bets should cash.
