NBA Finals Game 2

The 2025/26 NBA Finals move into Game 2 with the New York Knicks holding a 1-0 series lead after stealing the opener from the San Antonio Spurs.

San Antonio looked ready to take control when they opened up a 14-point lead in the third quarter, but the Spurs let the game slip late as the Knicks closed harder and cleaner. Jalen Brunson finished with 30 points and made an early statement in the Finals MVP race, while Victor Wembanyama had 26 points and 12 rebounds but shot poorly and never quite looked comfortable in the biggest moments.

New York will now try to take both games in San Antonio before the series shifts to Madison Square Garden, while the Spurs need a much sharper response to avoid falling into a 2-0 hole. Here are our top NBA Finals Game 2 betting tips, with odds from the best NBA bookmakers in United States.

San Antonio Spurs vs New York Knicks

Game 2: Friday, June 5 – 8:30pm EST – Frost Bank Center, San Antonio
The pressure is now firmly on the Spurs. They were in a winning position in Game 1, but their offence dried up late, their ball movement became too predictable, and New York found a way to drag the contest into Brunson’s preferred half-court grind.

Wembanyama should be better in Game 2, but the Knicks deserve credit for making his night awkward. Karl-Anthony Towns pulled him away from the rim, OG Anunoby gave New York strong two-way minutes, and the Knicks were able to stay connected defensively even when San Antonio looked like they might run away with it.

For New York, there is no need to overcomplicate the plan. Brunson is already playing like the best closer in the series, Towns gives the Knicks a genuine floor-spacing big, and Anunoby’s shooting again looks like one of the keys to cracking the Spurs defence. His over 2.5 threes cashed in Game 1, and the same matchup is sitting there again if San Antonio keep helping off the corners.

For the Spurs, Devin Vassell is the player prop target. He has been hovering around the three- and four-assist mark over recent games and has averaged 3.4 assists against the Knicks, so the 4+ assists play has a clear path if San Antonio move the ball better. He also cashed the 8+ rebounds angle in Game 1 with nine boards, looking far more involved under the basket as the Spurs dominated the glass despite the loss.

Game 2 should tell us plenty about San Antonio’s depth and composure. The Knicks have the momentum, but the Spurs still have enough size, rebounding and home-court energy to turn this into another tight Finals contest.
