NFL season causes record app downloads for online sportsbooks

According to a report, by JMP Securities the NFL season began with a surge in app downloads for online sportsbooks.

In September online betting sites in the U.S witnessed a 15% year over year increase amounting to 972,000 app downloads.

Moreover, the report highlights a 12% year-over-year increase in sportsbook users during September.

This statistic emphasizes that individuals are not downloading these apps but actively engaging with them to place bets on sporting events. These findings align with reports that indicate substantial growth within the U.S. sports betting industry.

The American Gaming Association’s report revealed a 37% surge in the amount wagered on sports within the U.S., reaching $57.7 billion in 2021. According to a report, by Morgan Stanley, the sports betting market in the United States is projected to reach $100 billion by 2025.
