Sabalenka, Swiatek top Madrid Open betting odds

Both were shock losers in Stuttgart, but the world’s top two still loom as the players to beat in Spain.

Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka are priced as equal favourites to win the 2025 Madrid Open, despite the world’s top two female tennis players both suffering surprise losses ahead of the WTA 1000 tournament beginning this Tuesday.

Both were beaten by Jelena Ostapenko at the Stuttgart Open in Germany last week, with Swiatek falling in the quarterfinals and Sabalenka in the final as the Latvian rushed to an unlikely title.

However, the duo still lead the outright betting heading into the season’s first WTA 1000 event on clay, with each paying +300 to lift the trophy in Spain.

The pair have met in the final of the last two editions of the tournament and may do so again, as they sit in separate halves of the draw.

Defending champion Swiatek could face Filipino teen Alexandra Eala — who beat her in Miami last month — in her first match.

A potential rematch with Ostapenko is on the cards in the round of 16, with Australian Open champion Madison Keys likely to be her quarterfinal opponent.

Advance to the semifinals and world No.4 Coco Gauff — a +1200 title chance with Nags.bet — is seeded to be waiting.

For Sabalenka, she opens against a qualifier and has No.28 seed Elise Mertens as her likely third-round opponent.

Big-hitting American Amanda Anisimova is seeded to meet her in the round of 16, with Paula Badosa or Zheng Qinwen as potential quarterfinal clashes.

Make the final four and Sabalenka could well face a rematch against Mirra Andreeva, who beat her in the Indian Wells final in March 2025.

Andreeva holds the third line of Madrid Open title betting at +900 with top online bookmakers.
