The Seattle Seahawks travel cross-country in NFL Week 12 to take on a Philadelphia Eagles team that is in desperate need of a win.

The Seahawks have won three in a row and six of their last seven games to sit tied with the Green Bay Packers for the second seed in the NFC. They beat the San Francisco 49ers 27-24 in OT in their last game and are now just one game back of San Fran in the NFC West.

The Eagles had won two in a row before losing 17-10 in their last game to the New England Patriots. At 5-5 their best chance to make the playoffs is winning the NFC East, where they trail the Dallas Cowboys by a game.

Philly’s defense did its part in the loss to the Patriots, but the offense came up short. They were up 10-0 early in the second quarter but were held scoreless the rest of the game.

These teams met last in the 2017 season. Not only have the Seahawks covered the spread in their last four games facing the Eagles, they have also covered in their last four meetings in Philadelphia.

So far the MVP race seems to be a two-horse sprint between Seattle’s Russell Wilson and Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson. While he threw an interception and was sacked five times in the win over the 49ers, Wilson also passed for 232 yards and a touchdown. He has 23 TD and only two picks on the season, including a run of eight touchdowns and only one interception in Seattle’s three-game win streak.

The Seahawks rushed for 147 yards in the San Francisco game where Chris Carson led the team with 89 yards at 3.6 yards per carry. He ranks seventh in the NFL in rushing yards but has not rushed for over 90 yards in three of his last four games.

Wilson and company will be facing an Eagles defense that ranks 17th against the pass and fourth against the run. Philly held the Pats to 298 total yards in their last game and played the run well, but they only had 255 total yards and 81 rushing yards.

Carson Wentz was 20/40 for 214 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the loss to New England. He has not passed for over 239 yards in his last four games and only has one touchdown pass in that stretch.

Miles Sanders and Boston Scott combined for 64 rushing yards against the Pats, with both failing to average over 3.7 yards per carry. Philly’s leading rusher Jordan Howard missed that game and is a question mark for Sunday.

Seattle only rank 28th in the league in pass defense and 12th in run defense. Their pass rush has also not been very good with 20 sacks, while the Eagles’ offensive line has allowed nine sacks in their last two games.
