AC Milan vs Lazio is one of the highlights on an exciting Serie A soccer betting card for Matchweek 3. We’ve got a pick in that matchup between undefeated teams and two others in Sampdoria vs Inter Milan and Torino vs Salernitana in this week’s best bets for Serie A.

Sampdoria vs Inter Milan

Inter Milan (2-0-0) is one of the five teams in Serie A off to a 2-0-0 start in league play. The defending Serie A champs have been in strong form out of the gate with a 4-0 win at home over Genoa and a 3-1 road win over Verona. Sampdoria (0-1-1), meanwhile, is still looking for its first goal in league play after losing 1-0 at home to Milan and playing to a 0-0 draw on the road against Sassuolo.

Since 2017, Inter is 7-0-1 in its last eight matches against Sampdoria, cruising to a 5-1 victory the last time these two clubs met. Given the talent gap between these two squads and the current form that Inter Milan is in, the road favorites are well worth a play in this spot.

Torino vs Salernitana

Torino (0-0-2) is going off as a big favorite at home this Sunday against Salernitana. The home team enters this matchup with a pair of 2-1 losses on the season at home against Atalanta and on the road against Fiorentina. Salernitana (0-0-2) has been defeated by Bologna 3-2 and Roma 4-0.

Yes, Torino figures to be the better team this season as Salernitana was recently promoted and is playing in Serie A for the first time in 23 years. But this is a Torino side that finished 17th in Serie A in 2020-21 with a 7-16-15 record and 16th in 2019 at 11-7-20. One blowout loss to Roma doesn’t necessarily mean that Salernitana is as far out of Torino’s league as these betting odds suggest. We’ll take a shot on Salernitana stealing a point with draw given the great odds they are getting to do so.

AC Milan vs Lazio

This matchup of AC Milan (2-0-0) vs Lazio (2-0-0) is one of the most highly anticipated matches of the week alongside Napoli vs Juventus. Lazio is off to a sensational start with two blowout wins of 3-1 over Empoli and 6-1 over Spezia. Ciro Immobile scored a hat-trick against Spezia and has four goals through Lazio’s first two matches.

AC Milan, meanwhile, has a 1-0 win over Sampdoria and a 4-1 win against Cagliari under its belt thus far in 2021-22. This should be a fun matchup between two of Serie A’s top clubs, but we like Milan’s chances to get the job done. Lazio will push the tempo and likely break through with a goal or two, though that high tempo will work for Milan too en route to a thrilling home victory.
