Racehorses can have peculiar names that can sometimes lead to some comedic situations.
Perhaps the most famous instance of racehorse monikers having some unintended comedic side effects took place when racehorse “Who You Gonna Call” got involved with a neck-and-neck finish with “We’re Not Sure” a few decades back.
It was the kind of finish that leave radio listeners thinking the commentator has lost his mind.
This past weekend in New Jersey at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, a racehorse named “Sports Betting” claimed a victory on the race track — a timely victory indeed.
Sports Betting had its second big win in New Jersey for the month and rewarded punters in more ways than one.
The victory for Sports Betting on Sunday came at a time when sports fans in that state were waiting for their governor, Phil Murphy, to sign a bill that legalized sports betting in their state. With the small city of Atlantic City standing to benefit immensely, the sports betting bill became law on Monday, ushering in a dawn for the online gambling industry in the USA.
