Sunday’s MLB American League best bets & parlays – June 26

MLB best bets

Every Major League Baseball (MLB) team is in action on Sunday, with the Rockies being introduced to the Joe Ryan Experience in Minnesota, Dylan Cease getting a start in Chicago against the Orioles, and Tampa Bay’s Shane McClanahan hosting Pittsburgh. Here are the best bets on games featuring American League teams scheduled for Sunday, June 26 starting at 12:05 p.m. Eastern. All lines provided by Bovada.

Colorado Rockies (+160) @ Minnesota Twins (-190)

The Joe Ryan Experience has been something to behold this season. Ryan, who was part of the trade Tampa Bay made for Nelson Cruz, has impressed, going 5-3 with a 3.00 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. Given the interleague matchup, Colorado is naturally unfamiliar with Ryan, which will be an advantage he’ll exploit in the first five innings or more.

Another Ryan, Ryan Feltner, will start for Colorado. The experience he’s provided hasn’t been on par with his counterpart. He’s 1-2 with a 5.46 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. Most recently he allowed four earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched at Miami. Feltner has particularly struggled with left handed batters, giving up five home runs and a .952 OPS in 54 at-bats against lefties. Although the Twins are as unfamiliar with this Ryan as the Rockies are with the Twins’ Ryan, expect lefties Max Kepler, Luis Arraez, and Alex Kirilloff to really enjoy their plate appearances, especially after seeing Feltner at least once. He’s allowed an .882 OPS to hitters facing him a second time in the game.

Baltimore Orioles (+160) @ Chicago White Sox (-190)

Dylan Cease is 5-3 with the 13th-best ERA (2.68) and fourth-most strikeouts (108) in MLB, and Baltimore has managed to collect just two extra-base hits in 23 at-bats against him. Cedric Mullins has two of the team’s five hits against Cease, so a player prop bet on him to collect multiple total bases might not be a bad idea.

Jordan Lyles is expected to start for Baltimore. He’s 4-6 with a 4.92 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. The White Sox have enjoyed hitting against Lyles, with 20 hits in 48 at-bats. Five of those 20 hits have gone for extra bases. AJ Pollock is four-of-13 with a double and a dinger against Lyles, and Josh Harrison is eight-for-16 with a double. Player prop bets on either or both to collect multiple total bases via hits would be smart.

Take Chicago in the first five innings and on the moneyline. Parlaying the White Sox and Twins on the moneyline pays +132.

Pittsburgh Pirates (+160) @ Tampa Bay Rays (-190)

Tampa Bay’s Shane McClanahan has been baseball’s best pitcher thus far this season. His 1.81 ERA, 113 strikeouts, and 0.85 WHIP are all tops in MLB. Pittsburgh has the third-worst team OPS in baseball and is completely unfamiliar with McClanahan. That does not bode well for the Pirates.

Pittsburgh has gotten some good innings out of projected starter Roansy Contreras, however. He’s 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 37.1 innings pitched. Contreras might keep Pittsburgh in the game for a bit, but Contreras has yet to complete six innings this season.

Take Tampa in the first five innings, on the moneyline, and to win by two or more. Parlaying the Rays, White Sox, and Twins on the moneyline pays +255.
