US Open 2024 men’s betting picks & top value bets

Carlos Alcaraz has won the last two Grand Slams and comes to New York having won the tournament in 2022. His credentials are clear, but it is question marks over his two biggest rivals — Jannik Sinner (doping scandal) and Novak Djokovic (motivation concerns) — make him the best bet to win the 2024 US Open.

Alexander Zverev has been the most consistent performer on the ATP Tour this year, making a semi-final, final and round of 16 at the first three Grand Slams. He has also won a tour-leading 52 matches in 2024. Should Alcaraz stumble, the two-time major finalist could capitalise.

Russia’s Daniil Medvedev has had a sedate season by his standards, but that is precisely why we are high on his chances at the US Open. The former world No.1 has a track record of not staying down for long, while the faster courts at Flushing Meadows work in the 2021 champion’s favour.

Admittedly, Alexei Popyrin is yet to achieve anything of note at the Grand Slam level. However, he did just beat five top-20 players in a row — including three from the top 10 — to win the Canadian Open. Grand Slams have been won with less, so those chasing early retirement might be tempted by the +12500 odds.
