West Indies vs India betting preview – Second ODI, Port of Spain

The second One Day International match between the West Indies and India will take place at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday, August 11.

The first clash was washed out, but the Windies looked in decent touch at 1/54 before the game was abandoned.

Chris Gayle was left nine runs short of breaking Brian Lara’s record for most West Indies ODI runs, so he will want to polish those off in Port of Spain.

Gayle was beaten by Kuldeep Yadav’s spin and only made four runs, before Evin Lewis started firing with three sixes and two fours en route to an impressive 40 not out off 36 balls.

The Indians were happy to let the West Indies bat first after Kohli won the toss, which shows they are confident they can run down any total.

This second clash will be interesting as no player was able to truly find rhythm other than Lewis, which would give the Windies a small advantage.

The 25-year-old keeper has made a name for himself as an excellent batsman at international level. Hope is able to hit big scores coming in at three for the Windies, where he is a patient and capable player. If Gayle or Lewis fall early, Hope will hold the innings together.

Kohli has an average of just under 60 runs per game in the ODI format, but that figure is even higher for games against the Windies. After the washout in Guyana, the Indian skipper will be itching to start an innings. Kohli is very difficult to topple when he starts well.
