DC stumbled early in their chase of RCB’s total, losing Faf du Plessis (2 off 7), Jake Fraser-McGurk (7 off 6), and Abishek Porel (7 off 7) within the first five overs.
Rahul stopped the bleeding, taking on RCB’s bowlers and finding support from Axar Patel (15 off 11) and later Tristan Stubbs (38* off 23), putting on an unbeaten 111-run partnership with Stubbs to clinch the win with 13 balls to spare.
The victory moves DC to the top of the IPL 2025 standings with four wins from four matches and shortens their odds to $4.50 to win the tournament.
“Everyone is playing with confidence,” captain Patel said afterward.
“When we won three in a row, I thought four out of four could be possible too.
“We talk about matchups and what’s happening on the pitch.
“I felt they prefer facing pace, so we tried to hold that back.
“Then the ball started spinning and bouncing, so I decided to bowl spin during the powerplay.”
