Retail betting goes live at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana

Retail sports betting is now available at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana.

The Gary facility opened its physical sportsbook on Wednesday, making it the 12th and final licensee to rollout on-site sports wagering operations in the Hoosier State.

The Hard Rock Sportsbook is located at the north end of the establishment, next to the main casino cage and Hard Rock Café. The facility features five live betting windows, a 24-foot-long LED TV, multiple odds boards, and a ticker displaying live scores, game stats, and the latest sports news.

The casino has also installed 23 self-service betting kiosks throughout the establishment to enable patrons to place wagers round the clock. Most of the self-service kiosks are located inside the sportsbook and outside the Player’s Club.

When it comes to wagering opportunities, the Hard Rock Sportsbook has a vast array of markets for bettors to choose from with the available options ranging from straight bets to parlays, futures, and teasers. The variety of sports featured include basketball, hockey, baseball, football, soccer, golf, tennis, boxing, mixed martial arts, and auto racing, to name a few.

The minimum bet at the facility is $5, but the maximum limit varies depending on the event. The operational hours of the sportsbook are 10am to 10pm Monday through Thursday, 10am to 11pm on Fridays, and 9am to 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Patrons can also cash out winning tickets at the main casino cage in case the retail sportsbook counters are closed.

Hard Rock ‘excited’ to add sports betting to Indiana property

The newly launched Hard Rock Sportsbook is the 12th venue for retail sports betting in Indiana.

Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana opened in May 2021 and it has since grown to become one of the most popular gaming venues in the state. Despite being the newest kid on the block, the facility is currently the market leader in Indiana in terms of casino gaming revenue, a position it has held for the past seven months.

The casino received its sports wagering vendor license from the Indiana Gaming Commission in January.

In a statement about the Wednesday launch, Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana President Matt Schuffert thanked the casino staff for going all-out to ensure that the project was a success. He went on to note that the retail sportsbook would be a great addition to the existing amenities at the casino.

“I’m very excited to finally announce the opening of the Sportsbook as a great addition to our other gaming amenities. And I’d especially like to thank all the employees who have worked so hard to bring this project to fruition,” said Schuffert.

The venue joins three other retail sportsbooks in Northern Indiana: Caesars Sportsbook at Horseshoe Hammond, DraftKings Sportsbook at Ameristar Casino, and FanDuel Sportsbook at Blue Chip Casino.

Hard Rock mobile betting app in the works

In addition to the physical sportsbook, Hard Rock Casino in Gary is also working on developing an internet wagering platform and mobile betting app to complement its retail offering. Indiana’s sports gambling law allows all 10 casinos and two racinos in the state to deploy up to three unique mobile sportsbook brands.

Indiana will be the fifth operational online market for the Hard Rock mobile betting app after New Jersey, Iowa, Arizona, and Virginia. The platform will mark the state’s 14th online sportsbook when it goes live.

The other digital sportsbook brands available to Hoosiers include DraftKings, Caesars, BetMGM, BetRivers, FanDuel, Unibet, WynnBet, Barstool, PointsBet, TwinSpires, Bally Bet, theScore Bet, and SBK Sportsbook.
